If you make your own syrup, there is a byproduct called sugar sand. Assuming you didn't over cook your syrup to crystallize sugar, that sand is precipitated minerals, a great micronutrient supplement. The syrup still has a saturated concentration of those minerals, the sand is just the over saturated leftovers.

Anything the Government say to eat i just do the opposite. I recommend reading “Health and Beauty Mastery” that book is a real eye opener about shocking stuff health industry is doing! I completely changed my habits

Yes, it’s a really interesting topic. I often wondered about this because my father is Ojibwe/Native American from the upper peninsula of Michigan. And with the Chippewa people. Maple syrup was one of the winter staples that kept them alive through the long cold winters. Both in a liquid and a solid form.and there’s other trees that you can also get syrup from. Like birch and even walnut!

Nothing better than being in the woods when the processing of maple syrup is happening. The smell of maple syrup is like heaven! My childhood memory.

I appreciate this. I have always been certain that raw honey and maple syrup are in a separate group than table sugar. I use in my coffee and tea. I am "keto" (mostly carnivore, but eat some berries and veggies) so generally no sugar. My recent blood panel was excellent. And I feel really good, which is my body telling me it is getting what it needs.

In Northern Argentina and Chile we use Chañar syrup, Is excelente for cough. Chañar is a thorny shrub or small tree (Geoffraea decorticans) of the family Leguminosae common in central Argentina which bears sweet edible fruits. Recognized for its potential health benefits, including aiding with asthma and coughs, this syrup is made by cooking chañar fruits until they produce a sweet, dark, and thick liquid akin to honey or molasses.

I make my own chocolate spread with 100% cacao powder, butter, vanilla, and maple syrup to sweeten it. I put some 100% all natural peanut butter in a dish, and the chocolate spread on top and eat it as a treat once in a while. F'ing delicious.

I'm not going to stop baking my 3-ingredient peanut butter cookies. 2 cups almond flour, 1 cup of natural peanut butter, 1/3 cup of maple syrup, 350 for 10 mins. Rest for about 15 minutes as they will be soft and they need to firm up. I'm disciplined, so I only ever eat one as a dessert after my low-carb meal. 😋

Maple syrup has always been the sweetner my body accepted the most 🌺 Birch sap can also be used, it tastes like coconut nectar syrup :)

I used to work at a sugar factory and I would like to state that sugar (at least beet sugar) is NOT bleached. It's washed in hot water and a centrifuge. It is spun at high speeds and sprayed with scalding hot water to literally wash away the color. The color that you see is actually JUST molasses. There are a lot of chemicals that go into making sugar yes, bleach, however, is not one of them.

Sir, as a kid coming back from skiing, about twice a winter we use to stop at a Cabane a Sucre on our way home to Montreal. They had a 3 or 4 course set meal with maple syrup with every course. It was an amazing treat. The kids for dessert would get a small wooden pail and ladle and sent outside. What we did was ladle some syrup onto a snow bank and ate it as a "toffee". If you ever go to Quebec for some spring skiing when the sap is running, I recommend you search out and stop into one. The food is great, but even as kids living in maple syrup country, we never wanted to see maple syrup again for weeks afterwards.

It's always cool when the science lines up with trail and error. The coffee formula I ended up with after years of research and trail and error is 1 tbsp of maple syrup, 1 tbsp of allulos, 1 tbsp of mct oil or heavy cream, a sprinkle of sea salt and cinnamon and my preferred mushroom powder. Always with spring water and organic coffee. Your videos constantly affirm my decision or help me to tweak them to be even better. Thank you for that.

This explains perfectly why I don't feel an excess of energy if I eat maple syrup. Thank you very much. I would not have found this information on my own.

Maple syrup is not dehydrated sap, it actually simmers to concentrate the flavor. Dehydration would involve removing all fluid. We concentrate broth as well. You wouldn't call it dehydrated broth, right? The longer the syrup simmers, the more concentrated, sweet and dark it gets. I cook ham or beans or different desserts with it. It's nutritious. It's not regular sugar at all. I include it in tea, smoothies and crêpes (which is the thin French version of a pancake. I make French toast, walnut banana bread with it. You get the idea... it's leaf is on my country's flag. 🇨🇦 😁

I’ve been on a serious maple syrup kick this year. I always feel so good when I eat it.

I had so much in New England earlier this year.

Look at sugar cane, there's 117 different varieties and some evaporated cane juice powders are very rich and amazing flavor I wonder if they have similar compounds or other health benefits
