Belts systems in Muay Thai is hilarious.. if you walk into a gym and you see that just leave.. save your money, cause they’ll probably make you pay for belt testing and make you buy the belt. You don’t need belts to feel/make progression. Just show up and train hard.

In close distance, I always would prefer a spinning elbow.

I’ve seen these spinning moves both in punches and kicks but in fight matches, the opponent just lands body shots on them in the process anyways whether it’s with their own basic punch like a jab or a teep or similar kick. Because of that not only is the execution incomplete but I saw some cases where they just get knocked on the ground because of their opponent’s body shots with their punches and/or kicks. Is there a point in those spinning punches and kicks? Can it still be effective in irl fights or in fight matches or both? Besides doing it faster, how do you execute those spinning hits in a way where your opponent doesn’t land body shots on you and you land your hits correctly instead of aiming wrong and landing them somewhere else?

Very fast backhand, yes, back is a little exposed but your hip rotation will give you more power to your backhand. That is what most peopke commenting on your expose back miss, that additional rotation on your hip give you tremendous power on your punch.

Should you continue the spin to turn back around? Or turn back around opposite of how you spun as shown? Just seems like you might leave yourself open turning all the way back around like that. Of course I am no coach and have very limited training.

No follow through, and when he misses he turns back around to his original position he's going to get caught with her right hook!

Exposing ur back is a bad thing. Totally telegraphing your tech.

Arent you supposed to spin all the way through? Since pivoting back looks dangerous

That is a huge step out which is so telegraphic, no follow through and at that closeness he's having to step and lean away from you to make the hit, which is not good in my opinion. A spinning elbow would be more appropriate when you're that close. Also that strike, as I've seen people mess up on delivery, is best delivered immediately after a priming strike or as a follow up of a strike in the same direction, so the opponent has a harder time seeing or predicting it. I've used these strikes (spinning back fists and elbows) MANY times. Lastly I personally would never strike with a spinning back fist and rotate back in the opposite direction. Youre like a spinning top at that point and you should follow through to where you make a 360° spin and set up again. Much better economy of movement and less vulnerability. I am only critiquing with my opinion. Teachers teach with their own reasoning for effectiveness. Not trying to offend anyone but it's what I see using my experience.

way too slow and you should spin completely, ure basically caping your power by staying stiff and then reseting to neutral

And then what ??
Leave yourself open ?? Gotta have a follow thru bro, after execution. I am not impressed. No . Not Impressed at all.

Wrong, you should be throwing a fake straight, and stepping into it, then spinning. Is this your first attempt at spinning elbow? My 8 year is laughing
