NO ANBERNIC. We don't want another RG350. We want your RG450, your RG550, your RG650, your T800, your T1000. I know you are listening cause you did when changed the layout and we know you want our money. So....MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!

I think it makes sense for Anbernic to discontinue the RG350 and replace it with the RG350P. The 350P basically takes the specs of the old 350 and combines it with the physical layout of the 350M. By having many common parts between the 350P and the 350M, they may be able to lower their production costs.

If you already have the RG350, there's very little reason to buy the RG350P. That would be like insisting on getting a PS4 Slim when you still have a perfectly functional fat PS4.

These are for the ones that hasn't bought one yet. If you bought the RG350 original, then you can update to this one in terms of comfort, but these are upgrades to the original ones for new customers.

Owning a 350M for a little more than a week now. It's such a beauty, premium looks and haptics.
It's flawed though, at least my device is, to a point where I almost get buyer's remorse. Quality control and assembly are lacking.
When heated up after being connected to the PC and transferring files, the screen will flicker.
I yet have to test whether this behaviour also shows after long sessions of, maybe PS1, gaming.
Then I get audio popping. When either going from "mute to volume 1" or starting any app/game using sound, the speakers will pop.
This is also audible, and especially annoying, with headphones/IEMs.
The switch of L1 is unreliable. Even if you hear it clicking it doesn't necessarily mean the switch has actually triggered.
And the low profile sticks are quite imprecise. They have a tendency to snap along the two axis. Doing small controlled circles?
Nah, not going to happen, they behave more like Dpads than analog sticks. Okay, not so much of an issue in the games you'll realistically play on the 350M.
But usually the dual-sticks do tip the scales in favour of the 350 devices, so they'd better be good, IMO.
Don't justify and shrug off the lacking quality control with saying the 350M was a cheap Chinese product after all. 100-150€ (~110-170 USD) is by no means "cheap".
(Heck, I got my sister a 2DSXL for that price and upgrading it with CFW was not a difficult task to do, with the help of guides.)
In hindsight I'll look at it like this:
If you're a collector, sure, go ahead, get the 350M or the 280M (esp. in its distinctive two-tone shell). You'll have a gorgeous showpiece, and, if you win the QC lottery,
also have an usable and enjoyable retro handheld.
If the latest iteration of the 350 is a little more reliable and the longer throw of the analog sticks make them smoother to control (?, I can't compare),
the classic layout of the Dpad and the lower price actually make the 350P very attractive.
But if you just want a simple stopgap until emulated N64 gaming becomes a thing, dunno, just get a Pocket Go 2, which does the same thing for even less money, I guess.
Don't get hung up on the subpar single stick, the systems you're emulating on it hardly had analog controls anyways.

P.S.: If you've made it to this point, thanks for reading my little rant. Here's a, maybe helpful, tip if you're looking for an alternative case for your RG350M.
I just had to have one in rose gold to match the 350M, a little silly, I know. So I tried my luck with a case for the "HP Sprocket Plus" (it has to be the PLUS model.)
The tray inside is a tight fit lengthwise, the 350M just won't completely drop in by itself as it's half a Millimeter too long, but giving the case a gentle squeeze
on the sides near the edges will make the 350M fall in, that's how close it is to a good fit. The case is a little broader than it has to be, which helps when pulling the 350M out,
and it's almost twice as thick as it has to be, but ofc. there's room for the cable, IEMs, card reader.

I had a rg300 before that sucked on most of my games. Bought the rg350p as a replacement and now i can play all my games great. Before i couldnt even play snes or mega drive games now they all work perfect.

I’ve just treated myself to a 350m. I’m very happy with it and won’t consider investing in another one until there’s a major advance of some sort, (power, speed, battery life etc). It isn’t perfect but if you can’t be bothered, (or lack the skill), to build your own it’s worth every penny.

Dear ANBERNIC, in your next RG device, please double or triple the power of the specs, especially the cpu and memory capacity. I want to play Sega Saturn, Dreamcast, PS2, PSP and more on it. Make it happen and my money is yours.

I own Rg350, the original. If I were to replace it with something, it would be with a clamshell device, provided it was the same build quality, as the good old 350.

RG350P is for people didn't buy RG350M. It's the same device but it will be cheaper and lighter than the metal version.

I have a 350m since 3 days, I love it and clearly this handheld would be replaced only by the next system in a good case who can run perfectly Dreamcast games and n64.

have the original, great as far as it goes, won't look to upgrade with this new spec, really want Dreamcast, N64 and maybe even 3ds support, which surely can't be too far away, we will see. thanks for the vid.

Wait, is it the new screen? I thought the new screen in the 350m was 480 x 320, not 320 x 240. Is this just the old rg350 with a new layout?

A cheaper option for those who like the screen and layout of the 350M but don’t want to pay the price.
