Batteries of the future

Battery research is an important piece of the puzzle for the transition to renewables and a sustainable society. Uppsala University has the largest research group in the Nordic region in this area. Here, research is being conducted on the batteries of the future – which can be used, among other things, to power vehicles and store energy. These are batteries that are safer, more durable, hold more energy and last longer than today's lithium-ion batteries. Daniel Brandell and Kristina Edström, professors at the Department of Chemistry–Ångström Laboratory, tell us more about the research.
