Two years ago, Ford dealerships had markups up to $10K for Mach-Es. Now, they're sitting on lots by the thousands. The greed chickens have come home to roost.

Everyone who is bitching about these cars has obviously never driven them. My Mach E GT is the nicest car I've ever owned. My previous car, a 2008 Mustang GT Premium, was costing me over 300 a month on gas. In the 2 months that I've had my Mach E, I've spent MAYBE 100 on charging. And I don't have a home charger setup either. Who cares that they called it a Mustang? The range is fine. I drive 60 miles a day and there are no problems. You think it's not fast? I blew the doors off a Challenger RT who kept trying to race me. Yes they are more expensive than a Tesla. For now. With all the competitors coming on the market, the pricing will change. ANd pretty soon we'll have access to the Tesla charging network. This is the future, my friends.

Just bought one. Have had three gas mustangs including 2 GTs. This is a great car. Is it a “mustang”? Not a “mustang”? Who cares. Are the 1976 gen 2, 1980 or 1990 atrocities “mustangs”? Guys. It’s marketing. Get over it. They could have called this the “Optimus Prime Mach 2 Billion” and it would be still be what it is: the best performing EV SUV you can get.

I’ll tell you why.
#1 too expensive
#2 too short on range
#3 never should have been called a mustang.
#4 people are feeling like they are getting forced into EV’s pushing them to staying with ICE vehicles.
#5 better or cheaper options on the EV market.

I was at Roseville Ford in CA last night and they had 50+ Mach E on the lot. They aren’t selling, no one really wants them. Mach E GT has a better interior than a Y performance, but the price tag just kills it.

So I went to a ford dealership to try and sell my mustang and I talked to a sells rep and he said everyone wanted them when there were shortages because people want what they can’t have. Also the people who got them including himself just wanted to see what it was like living with new technology. But after owning one he said it was very boring and had no character. That was why he sold his and the majority of the trade ins are from people complaining about a lack of character or dull experience

They aren't selling because they are too expensive. That vehicle shouldn't be more than 40k.

❤❤❤ my cyber orange Mach e. It's so much fun to drive but it's the safety enhancements that really sold me.

Ford also is offering rebates of about $3, 000 in some regions meaning you can buy a Select model for under $45, 000 not including federal and state subsidies.

1. Priced too high 2. No NACS yet 3. Dealer network with salesmen who know nothing about the product 4. Insane ADM stickers 5. Tesla offers more mature product with more features, range, etc.

I’m a Ford guy but I wish they would have called this something different. Galaxie or Thunderbird would have been great choices. I’m not ready to make the jump to an electric. I would happily buy a PHEV with 80-100 miles of range and gas for the rest. My commute is 80 miles a day roundtrip and I could charge at home while having unlimited range for long trips via gas.

From what I've heard, it's the 220 mile range ones that sit on the lot. The longer range models move faster. And Ford has sold about 9, 000 the last two months in America.

All you complainers but the next charger and Camaro are all electric and mustang fans still have the s650. Be happy we still have both and when forced to make the next mustang all electric, ford will have a leg up on ev development and hopefully iron out all the basic issues of ev production

Price and not eligible for the full $7, 500 tax incentive. While Tesla Model Y is less expensive and eligible for the full tax credit.

I'd probably still buy a Y performance for 10k less and not have to hassle with a dealer.

I’m on my second Tesla. The more I live with EVs the more I hate them. Currently trying to figure out how to get rid of it. Too many compromises with an EV, they feel too fragile, long distance trips are terrible, and phantom braking is ridiculously unsafe and there is no fix for it.

Love this car but I’m scared to leave Tesla’s charging network. Any talks of charging networks improving outside of Tesla?

All they had to do was call it a Taurus and leave the Mustang name alone.

Maybe Utah just hasn’t had a bad winter yet. Having seen several times in my life people dumping perfectly good cars en mass for various reasons I can imagine a pull back on EV ownership.
