As a Middle Eastern Dancer (Bellydancer) I've had the opportunity to learn and witness trance dances like The Zaar which are done in cases like this where science has failed them and it's deemed possession. It's very fascinating.

Randomly caught this early lmfao, divine timing. There is a lot of present day Arab muslims, especially the elder generation of Sufi in my own experience, who practice spells relating to Djinn. Similarly to practice of Strega witchcraft in Italy where Catholicism takes reign, there's a lot of secrecy surrounding it and what gets passed down usually only stays within the family and is honestly even limited in what you're told about. I really love the way Islam connects to pagan beliefs, and even how much of it is related to new age concepts like "manifestation." The ongoing repetition and emphases on setting intentions. There is a lot of duaa for healing relationships where one would "chant" I suppose on candy and then give the candy to the couple, supposedly this will heal their relationship problems. So love spells, ruqyah etc and even duaa before you go to the bathroom like you said :p are very much still used in Islam and the prayer beads as well which you probably might already know. And the evil eye is lesser used among muslim extremists but many people still use this and even Masha'allah is a term that is used for protection. When you compliment someone you say this so you don't give them the evil eye, lol. I love love love seeing you make content on this topic :) I am getting closer to the goddess Tanit currently and feel a deep need to go to her site in Ibiza. <3 Take care

This is an old video from you but it’s so damn interesting. I grew up with a Turkish mom and she always told me and my brother to go to the bathroom and put the sink on if we had a nightmare and then “tell the water” what we saw and let it flush away the negativity. That’s a little spell in itself lol. This video really helped me realise how much of this culture and the Islamic occultism I really internalised within myself due to growing up as a Turkish girl. Thanks

There is a lot of secrets in the Quran and many references to occultism, like the chapter of the Djinns (Spirits) in the Quran is the number 72 which is a reference to the 72 demons of the goetia, also many of the Genies/demons ar mentioned by name like Baal, Amun (Haman) and Marut (Marduk).

Next time Georgina please do an episode on the Quran and the secrets of occultism.

As someone from an islamic background but grew up in a heavily Scottish Celtic environment, I have found a correspondence between Djinn and the Fae particularly helpful when trying to figure where they fit compared to western folklore.

In islam there is hadiths said there are muslim jinns in every muslim house especially rooftop and they follow the inhabitants of the house. They eat when we eat they pray when we pray.

Djinn Magick is very good for practitioners of all traditions. I think Thelemites can benefit greatly from Djinn work, which isn't in the A.'.A.'. curriculum.

Daat darling I saw a demonic entity. I have a question I don't know if you can answer me! I had a jinn I believed in my home to cut a long story short because there were multiple events that had happened to me I made rukyia water by saying Quranic verses on water and blowing on it then sprinkling it front door and back door and around my home. Then use the 3 kings incense from Christianity and it helped. I was getting nasty smells in my home, seeing dark shadows at the corner of my eyes and it could have almost killed me. My question is how I used religious items from both religions Why did it work? To get rid of the demons?

Hey da'at darling, long time WCM practitioner here. Djinn & Daimon's are really the same thing. If you look at the concepts side by side they're very similar, very close to identical. I think the difference is just primarily cultural ideas. The word djinn might actually have derived from daimon. The whole levant & surrounding area was heavily influenced by both the Egyptian & Greek cultures.

Excellent thank you so much for giving clarity on this.
While I’m here I think your occult 101 video on satanism has been removed, is it on any other platforms? Trying to help educate some friends and yours was the best summary.

The dj/j pronunciation split is a dialectal variety in Arabic, with other dialectal varieties such as a hard G pronunciation also existing. Jinn is plural and Jinni (or genie) is masculine singular with Jinniyah/Jinnyat being the feminine singular.

Shaytan and Satan are cognates and come from the Hebrew bible. Though they have acquired additional cultural aspects that differentiate them now.
