Quick review: Lorca Model No. 1 GMT

A surprising new watch from a new brand

One of the most beautiful new watches I have seen. Love the vintage feel - the elegance, the humble size. Rather overpriced for a watch from a new brand, but it's found a spot on my wishlist.

A 36mm GMT, don’t see many of those. I like the mid century styling, reminds me of a king Seiko. That bracelet looks particularly comfortable too.. nice

This watch is actually a really nice size. And black dial version looks stunning. Sadly I feel it's over priced by a lot.

Man, I'm so tempted by this watch. Great price and a lot of value. I love the GMT complication and these vintage vibes. I hesitate because I'm saving my money for watches that came out last year. Ha, it's dumb but true. :) I wish this brand success and hope they sell a lot of them.

I love the aesthetic. My only gripe is the movement. Soprod used to be good but I had a bad experience with their movement when I got my Serica 5303.

I'm not sure I'd take this over a vintage-sized Glycine Airman at that price, but it's nice to see microbrands trying slightly different designs.

I want to like this watch, but for whatever reason I don’t love the font used for the 24 hour scale. It reminds me of something from Microsoft Word, like they designed the watch in Word. Maybe I stare at Times New Roman too much of the day and I’m just getting triggered.

Twice what my 2 1/2 yo Steinhart running an ETA 2893-2 cost me. Nice watch. Might be a go with a ….(??? Hmmmm, Ah…) 9074 Myota ? Travelers GMT for $1400.00 USD but an office GMT for that price with micro brands sporting the 4R-34 (I think that’s the new GMT Seiko movement) starting at $400.00……kinda spendy for $1400.00 & SoProd…….???

I’m trying to think, even with my feeble mind, if I’ve seen another watch with the numerals on the bezel facing north and south instead of following the contour of the dial. I don’t think I have.

37 mm are very comfortable.. i had 40mm till now .. once i tried a 37mm since then i don't wear the rest nowdays 😄
