Lol fun fact, my Dad engineered the facade of the Bull Ring center in Birmingham and created the aluminium domes. When I was a kid our back garden was packed full of the domes which were used for stress testing.

I’ve been to Birmingham (UK). Took a cab and couldn’t understand what the driver was asking me, he noticed and turned on the speakers. I could gear him clearly then, but still couldn’t understand what he was saying, so I just replied “YES”

Coastal Alabama is actually quite comfy. Right next door to panhandle region of Florida, yet much more cheaper to live in.

Just visited Birmingham AL for the first time a couple weeks ago. It’s rough but I guess I can’t say it’s “worse” than many other US cities. For me it was just the heat and humidity of the Deep South in general that I found hard to deal with lol
