I just did my August budget today; I was planning on doing a no spend but since it's my birthday month I decided to do a no spend in September.

Wow, the nails !! I have completed my Aug budget, have completed my Christmas sinking fund and moved it to my high interest rate savings account. I'm setting my budget up now. My goal for this month is to payoff one of my debts and succeed on my no spend for August.

Calendar is set. Goal is to finish 2 challenges. With those challenges, make an extra CC payment that covers the interest. Proud to say we are under 1000 on the CC🎉. Hopefully knock it out b4 2024 is over if not beginning of 2025.

Yes, I have August done. 3 Paycheck budget sheets (3 paydays). Calendar complete. Still need to do my cash envelope breakdown and spending tracker.
I got TBM paycheck work book. So far it's what I need. Didn't care too much for the download version. But the book is nice. Only downloaded the Paycheck budget worksheet. First time budgeting. Let’s see how it goes.

Hi there, I hope you’re doing well. I think about you just about every day. I have had some challenges the last few months and it’s been impossible to even look at my budget book. I want to get back on track and will, it’s just so discouraging when there’s one unexpected expense after another. I can’t save or plan enough, so I don’t even want to try. But I will. I have to.

I have budgeted for August! I have to agree that bonuses, extra paychecks etc won't make much impact when you are living paycheck to paycheck. Getting a month ahead gives you breathing space to figure out where to make best use of those extra dollars. That means you're less likely to spend it on regular bills and unplanned treats and use it to smash some goals.

I get paid biweekly as well so I know it doesn’t seem like that 3rd check is extra, but you do usually see it a few months later when your pay date comes earlier again. I have a 3 check month in October, but I won’t see it until February 2025 since rent is due by the 5th of every month. Get better soon!

Did you look into a 529 plan for your grand baby? Those can be useful for college. I did those with my kids. Lots of research though.
