Einstein's theory is in the clear, perhaps only until scientists discover a celestial object massive enough to throw it off.

Science is in essence a compilation of error, and proving him wrong would be a massive leap forward.

no i didn't intend it in this way.
i ment that when an "infinite" appears in a theory, it is indicator that there is something wrong or incorrect in the theory.
but if we fail over and over again, to disproof his theory we can start thinking the infinity as a really existing property of the universe,
like quantum mechanics at the start was thought to be wrong, now we accept it after failing to disproving it.
should have explained it better the first time sorry i'm a bit lazy

Rational for this research is to test the hold of theories. A theory merely an assumption that holds logic and deemed correct until an event occurs which may disprove or require such a theory to modified. Einstein made alot of assumption about these theories before they could be tested. Now they are testing them.

hehe they think just cause we have technology now and einstein didnt, it means he mustve been wrong about everything

There will never be another Einstein. But there will be plenty of everyone else.

sorry didn't meant to sound religious,
I'm an atheist just to clarify that :D

Didn't the SUPER COLLIDER just prove that neutrinos are faster than the speed of light? If so, wouldn't that overturn E=mc2?

We dont just accept anything. We have to verify first.

what if infinite gravitational "pull" really exists can't we simply accept it
i mean over the years we accepted a lot of stuff thought of being impossible this could be another one

MartinDxt

No it didn't.

1. It wasn't the super collider
2. It was an error

not to start a controversy but proof and testing theory is the difference between science and religion. religion just accepts things because of someone's idea. so it is crucial that we constantly test things to move forward.

Then why is it still a "theory"

That's a bit quaint. So your saying we should prove him wrong for proving him wrong sake?

Einstein was wrong about quantum theory.

Actually, many tests have proven it correct.

Science proven
There you religion another arrow in the shoulder for you there
We as a population are on the cusp of a revelation when it comes to technology and science

Einstein was wrong in various things, quantum mechanics was one of them.

Wow, I usually see this sort of misunderstanding of the definition of a theory on videos on evolution.

Fun Fact: theories don't actually become laws.
