Benchmade 162 Bushcrafter Fixed Blade Knife Overview

The 162 Bushcrafter is a Shane Siebert design. It features a high ground drop-point blade with polished finish. S30V stainless steel blade (58-60HRC). Hand-blended and contoured G-10 handles, held together with pressed titanium tubing. Brushed full-grain buckskin leather sheath with D-ring and flint rod loop and retention strap.

Love the knife, hate the sheath. And why are we letting Benchmade off the hook for cheaping out on stupid things like not including the actual dangler on such an expensive knife? They do stupid things like that all the time and it’s annoying as hell. They’ve taken short cuts on other models too.

Got my 162-1 in yesterday from BladeHQ, First Production 76 of 500. Pretty cool getting a knife that was used as your guys overview, makes it kinda special knowing over 4, 000 people have seen my knife lol.

Is it just me or does the sheath look like an aftermarket sheath that really wasn't designed for this specific knife? I'm sure it's good leather and all that, but that's just my impression.

Does the sand colored version come with a kydex sheath instead of this one?

Anyway, I think the upcoming *Benchmade 200 Puukko* is better than the Benchmade Bushcrafter 162 because:
- for Winter the new 200 Puukko has a full enclosed tang. So there will be no metal burns or a very cold handle to hold.
- also the puukko's handle shape is more comfortable & shape allows more bushcrating techniques.
- the price is $123 USD, which is much cheaper.
- being a puukko it is well balanced.
- the Benchmade 200 Puukko's black leather sheath is much better than the ugly shape & buckskin material of the Bushcrafter 162.
