It all begins with education. Most people have no idea how money works, or how the Fed works. People fail to understand the concept of fiat currency, or how the destruction of the Fed could actually unite most Americans against our economic demise which is fast approaching. I'm teaching myself and my family about these things for posterity's sake.

Absolutely correct. Before the Civil War we had decentralized banking. Private banks could emit bills of credit backed by commodities. These notes could be traded for goods and services. Taking off capital gains off commodity money would not be enough though. We must be able to use commodity money as legal tender for the purchase of goods and services.

I'd like the idea of Bretton Woods 2.0.
But instead of backing the currency at a fixed rate to gold and silver you back the currency with a basket of valuable commodities including but not limited to precious medals.

The federal reserve does not just benefit the elite through interest rates, its also the whole money creation dynamic of the banking system. Why do people think it is ok that a select few corporations have the extreme privilege of receiving interest on all newly created money both public and private? That right should be vested solely in the government for the benefit of society. Beyond that the federal reserve also bails out its buddies to the tune of trillions via QE so the elite cannot make any bad bets.

The Fed cannot "set interest rates;" interest rates are a dependent variable. The Fed does not trade in the Fed Funds market. The reserve requirement is now zero.

It's pretty simple, other strong (about five) currencies need to export and they try to keep their currency low. Therefor the USD will always have great value. Even when the Euro was $1.30 in 2018 I thought it was of great value.
