One of the best things about fall is the persimmon! I have to wait all year to find these delicious fruits in the market so I wanted to share my love for this fruit by showing you how to make a delicious persimmon syrup. Let me know if I should make a cocktail out of it for one of my next videos.

Just in case you missed these videos

In South Korea, we have dessert called 홍시 which is fully ripe persimmon! It's really sweet, taste like a bit of jelly as well!

I use persimmons to make a lot of desserts. The most underrated fruit in existence.

Here in Lebanon it's well known and in season nowadays. I really love that underrated fruit and it's probably the sweetest I've ever tasted. But as you said, if it's even a bit unripe it's a nightmare in my mouth😅

In India it is called Simran and yeah it tastes sweet and refreshing!

My grandma has American persimmon trees in her yard, the fruit is best when it falls out of the tree and starts to become a bit withered. They’re very tart and tannic, I like them a lot.

In the southern United States we have a version of these (the American persimmon) that we call Possum Apples! They usually are significantly smaller than the fuyu variety and have a brown-ish skin with a bright orange inside and large seeds. They’re delicious once they fall out of the tree but if you try to pick and eat them before they fall they’ll lock your jaw!

The ones growing around where I live are much smaller than the fuyu and are super nice. Custard texture and mango hints. Not sure what variety they are.

in elementary school they tried to serve us persimmons and they were SUPER hard. since they were fairly new to me i tried it and hated it, but now that i’m older & know a bit more info on them i wouldn’t mind trying them again

In Indonesia, persimmons in the market has this white powder on it that supposedly help it to ripen faster. It's the Fuyo variety, and taste like Papaya and mango combined with apple texture, and after you bite into it it leaves a kinda chalky feel in your mouth

Here in Kentucky we have the small sweet ones.
You have to go really deep in the woods most of the time though.
Only seen the trees they grow on a couple of times while hunting.
Deer love them.

Grew up eating fuyu from my local farmers market every weekend! Happy to see someone else enjoys it!
