SELLING my SONY A7SIII for a SONY FX3? HUGE MISTAKE?

OKAY YALL...I have made the decision after using both the Sony #FX3 and the Sony #a7siii for a while. Do you all think I am making a mistake?

I went with the A7S3, and recently bought a used A7R3 with a 16-35 f2.8 that was cheaper than a new A7IV by itself. I added the new Sony B10 shotgun mic which is excellent. What can I say, I like EVFs. My bad neighborhood camera is a used 5Dmk4 that I got dirt cheap.

100% Agree ! You will allways youse yor camera more if you like to use it. If you feel the fx3 is better looking you will use it more, and get more footage, and that is a huge benefit in my opinion.

As someone who doesn't shoot hybrid and rather have a dedicated photography camera and a dedicated video camera, EVF isn't a huge selling point for me. Usually when you build out a camera to be a cinema rig, it becomes impractical to use the viewfinder, especially if you put a top handle on. For anyone looking for a camera specifically for cinema functionality, I believe that's where the FX3 shines.

Great video! I love the EVF and custom buttons on the A7SIII. I might have to get the FX3 for my main cam but I don't think I will be selling the A7SIII any time soon.

I have both for 3 months and I haven't taken the a7Siii out of the transit case since I got the FX3. I only use the FX3 for long content video and a7iv for run & gun stuff. Time to sell the a7Siii before the value drops.

Agreed, I'm all in with the EVF capability. It's a cam op's highest level of immersive intimate experience being able to put your eye into the viewfinder to frame, compose and execute the shot. Doesn't get any better. I've notice the FX3 has had some recent 'cinema' updates that bring it closer to the FX6 so it really depends on budget, style of shooting and personal preference. Thanks for the review.

One of my favorite things about the FX3 is the grip. Its the best grip in my particular hands in any mirrorless camera I have tried. Period.

If you’re going to shoot events or weddings you absolutely need an evf. If you can’t see what’s in focus you’ll miss shots, also composition is easier. Always shoot in slog in every situation and only use Pahantom luts. Delete every other one you have. You’re welcome.

I still prefer the A7Siii. The image is sharper and lends itself better to fashion films. I think the FX3 uses an optical low pass filter like panasonic S1H vs S1, although Sony doesn’t say it

Great Video always! I don't know how you feel about video requests, but could you do a video on the new Sony FX 30 apsc cinema camera, and where it will slot in the Sony lineup!

A7 IV 3690k dot Electronic viewfinder and A7S III 9400K dot Electronic viewfinder... why couldnt sony put this In the A7iv. arghh
