A First Look At Garuda Linux KDE 'Dr4Gonized'

Recently I have been getting a lot of requests from viewers of the channel to take a look at a Linux distribution that I had never heard about--Garuda Linux. This is yet another Arch-based distro but it does some different things. Most notable is that it uses the Zen kernel and seems to be optimized for gamers.

This distro is made by final year graduation student from india who lives in my neighbourhood. The distro is heavily inspired by Manjaro and arco linux. Garuda means Eagle in India and hence the name of distro. Actually dev made this distro for hi personal use and later made a standalone distribution.

This is really the most stunning look of a Linux desktop I have ever seen. Plasma was always a very shiny desktop, but this is next level!

CPU usage would be lower on real hardware - due to kwin using GPU accel rather than more software rendering in a KVM VM

Btw dark reader is an extension that generates dark themes for websites. Quite useful especially if doing something at night.

this distro looks amazing, i don't think you noticed this, but the desktop background blurs when you are focused on an application.

Btw, the theme used in that edition you are using is called Sweet, the icon pack is called Candy

Garuda Linux is developed in India. Garuda has lovely icons, nice set of apps. Good distro to use overall.
