FINALLY someone that 'Gets' what I try explaining to people in match's.... example: 'Lets not build ourselves into the point of offensive, lets build layers of defenses that directs the enemy on a path we expect or want them to travel' etc. Video made my day as a 1k hour plus guy that enjoys playing engineer & knows there is more value in the class than simply 'Getting them nodes up'

A fortification/defence building guide would be awesome. This topic probably isn't talked about enough.

Playing the pure defense mode is heaven for an engineer. Lot less to worry about in regards to team. No counter attacks against enemy objectives, just pure defensive action and i love it

Now this is the kind of commander you want right here! 💯💪🏻
Writing ideas does not hurt the community It actually keeps the community going! Keeps people engaged!

I love these scenario based videos. You should do more commander gameplay commentary. Those really helped me as a beginning commander, and still try to spread the info to inexperienced commanders I see now.

I really want buildable Heavy Machine guns nests.

by the 2:54 mark you have created more killzones that you can funnel the attacker down of

fortifications can mean so much in winning and losing a game and preventing getting run over by enemy momentum, holding a choke point can provide so much bonuses for a team it is a powerful tool that is not used enough, and the points u made in the video is absolutely spot on. Good job on making the community better.

Thank you for making a video about this, it's hard to explain in the middle of a match to an engineer that is just wanting to put up things because that's what they do.

Great video! I agree with some of the comments below asking for more in depth engineer guides/tactics and commander commentary. These kinds of videos are always helpful and inspiring, and have helped me learn much of what I know. I like the way you walk us through your thought process, and I appreciate the positive impact you are making just by encouraging conversation.

Keep up the good work!

If you keep the hedgehogs on your side then they may drive their tank up to them. And if they do, they are restricted in movement and a huge target from an AT gun in the north. And then you will have a tank carcass blocking the bridge. :)

Excellent. I am normally not much an engineer (I've done it a lot at some point but not lately) - this video has me hyped up to start messing around with weird buildings again!

Would love a video on the most underrated defensive strong points to focus on building up, or maybe a general top 10 on the subject could also be cool. For example Distillery is a little farther from the HQ because it's the center point on the map, but it's strong point is so small that if built up in a smart way, it's damn near impossible to cap because of the size of the strong point. Another one that's very underrated is Flak Position on SME. a lot of people don't think to build this one up because you can't use the supply truck to drop supplies for the engineer, but if you use a manpower node, and have the commander drop supplies from the sky, you can easily make it a fortress because it already has a lot of pre-existing barbed wire, sits on top of a hill, and is smacked in the middle of a field.

Now we come to the Real problem: 100 guys running around like a chicken with their head chopped off ...❤

Using all of your defenses to fortify a single objective is such a misallocation of resources. a single wire built in the right spot can force infantry hundreds of meters off course. one hedgehog in the left lane can force that Tiger onto the mines on the right shoulder. Another fun tactic is to place a 99% baricade at the end of a road and hide next to it. when a tank approaches, you one tap with the hammer to block its path. then quickly place a hedgehog directly behind it 😂. might be less efficient than a mine or a satchel, but it's hilarious. works extremely well Omaha Beach. the northern US HQ has that narrow path up the hillside to the trenches, and there's another one in front of the middle HQ, but it's a bit easier for them to get around.

The same people saying these defenses or ideas "hurt the community" are the same guys mindlessly wandering around two sectors north when the enemy is about to capture your hq lol

The only problem is... I can't even get these damn squad leads to build garrisons let alone ask an engineer to build nodes. This would just be asking too much lol
Unless you got like 50 solid friends to play on your team and will listen

The building system definitely could use a bit of a rework, the hitboxes are so fucking bad that it prevents you from building stuff in areas where you clearly have space to do so.

Also the upgrading process time could be like cut in half, it just takes way too long and most of the time you cant finish building everything to lvl3 before the game ends
