Suspended Labour councillor Ricky Jones has been arrested on suspicion of encouraging murder after making shocking comments at a counter-protest in London.

Videos circulating online allegedly show Mr. Jones telling a crowd in Walthamstow that far-right demonstrators should "have their throats cut."

A Labour spokesperson condemned the remarks, stating, "This behaviour is completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated."

The Metropolitan Police confirmed that a man in his 50s was arrested in southeast London on Thursday on suspicion of encouraging murder and violating the Public Order Act. He remains in custody.

In the viral video, a man at the rally can be heard saying, "They are disgusting Nazi fascists, and we need to cut all their throats and get rid of them all."

Jones, who has represented the Princes ward since 2019, is now barred from sitting on the Labour benches at Dartford Borough Council meetings.

I am sure that the moderate Muslims in Iran in the late 1970's never thought that the future of their country would be one where their daughters & granddaughters would be physically punished, and even murdered, for wearing clothes in the wrong way ... nor any of the other rules & restrictions they now have to live under.

My fear is that we're on the same journey for the UK :-(
