I used gilbert's modloader and FalsePattern's OMORI decryptor to make a mod so I more easily could showcase the remaining emotions. Keep in mind most of these are inaccessible non-modded, so the lack of certain emotions probably means nothing!

i kinda like that aubrey and hero are still kinda opposites, for sad/depressed aubrey already has tears, she lets herself cry, while the only change hero's sprites has is theres a bit more blush on depressed.
and on happy, hero looks really cheerful, while aubrey is still smiling, she still looks a bit gloomy by the eyebrows
aubrey still lets out her emotions while hero _still_ keeps his feelings bottled up, its been 4 years man

The fact that real world Sunny can only fit one emotion tier (minus happy : ( ) definitely fits into the headcannon that after everything happened, he ended up developing Flat Effect alongside his depression and Anxiety

That's very interesting... In dream world, Omori has one state of emotion more than others. But in the real world, he has close to none. Just sad and angry. As for the others... Angry Aubrey is the same as regular Aubrey and that's concerning. And when she's enraged, she looks full of hatred. Hero bottles his rage even more than in dream world, which could mean that he's afraid of being angry after what he said to Kel the only time he was really angry. Kel seems to be annoyed at best. But not because he bottles his emotions like Hero does. It's because, just like Aubrey stated, he's simple. He's not the kind of guy to get really angry. Although it could be interpreted in a different way. Cause Kel did that face before, when he was annoyed by Aubrey. It means that, even though he looked annoyed, he was actually enraged, which is kind of scary when you think about it...

When it comes to sadness... Aubrey is the only one who looks genuinely depressed. And even her seems to be holding back the best she can. The others don't cry. It's like they repress it, even Kel. Like they're repressing their trauma in a way, because it's too painful.

As for happiness... The fact that these poor beans only have one state of joy and Sunny doesn't have any make me really sad. Aubrey seems genuinely happy, even if she's trying to hold back, which is probably due to the fact she doesn't want to show weakness. She's been harboring that tough girl act as a way of protecting herself from being hurt. So it makes sense that her pride is holding her back a bit. As for Kel... He looks like he just ate a chocolate bar and is now in bliss XD I don't know, I'm not sure I understand how to interpret it. As for Hero... Maybe it's just me, but... I feel like he's forcing that smile. Like it's not completely genuine. But I'm not sure...

Now fear... Is pretty funny. Firstly, because of Hero's face. Why does it look like Pluto's ? XD Secondly, because of Kel's face. How are we suppose to read this cartoony expression ? XD Aubrey and Sunny are the only ones who look really scared. But the both of them don't completely express it the same way. Aubrey seems a bit angry, which is fitting since she uses her anger as a way to protect herself, so she'd probably protect herself from her fear with anger too. Sunny though... He looks completely paralyzed by fear. He's succumbed to it completely. He's not just afraid, he's terrified.

It's crazy how much we learn from those characters just by observing the way they express their emotions.

I have a feeling that Omori feels more emotions than what Sunny can because Sunny can't really show that emotions, or chooses not to, which is why he always pushes them through in Dreams so he can release them, thus, making him emotionless. Just a theory
