Bark and jack ribbed nato strap thoughts

I was on the fence for a while but bit the bullet and glad I did. In this video I give my thoughts on the strap and why I like it,

I purchased a dozen ribbed natos recently for my Hamilton’s. I love the rough texture. It’s stiff and feels premium. I got loads of compliments. The seatbelt nato looks cheap imo. And you’re right, on the wrist it feels slippery. But some people may prefer that or it may be better for hot climates. Definitely get the Bark and Jack nato. Or there are the exact same natos in the market from other brands. I think the material is the same. The only difference is the hardware and logo stamping on the keeper. Great video btw. NATOs are great.

The slipping around is why I cut all my NATO's now. I cut that small flap piece off and it eliminates that movement and makes the watch not only closer to the skin, but it feels less bulky.

Thank you for the review. I was thinking on throwing out $30 for a seat belt nato because my current one from Amazon is itchy as hell, but I definitely wouldn’t enjoy my watch sliding everywhere on my wrist.

I have tried this particular NATO, but I have found that the “seatbelt” material ones tend to fray at the edges and the tang holes and I don’t really care for the shiny look.

I watched a video of how to trim them and I made my ribbed a single pass. And after several uses I think is softer. I have many straps and this ribbed are my preferred ones! As you said, it looks like the holes won’t flake or stretch.

You actually go over and then under the keepers so it locks in. Kind of like a motorcycle helmet strap

I think the word you’re looking for is “rigid”- which is something a watch strap needs to be in order to hold a heavy watch firmly in place. Seatbelt straps are trash for a heavy watch.

Thanks for the review, that is helpful. Quick question though. I’ve had several natos from cheaper brands where the strap itself is just fine but the stitching is awful. It is made of nylon thread which gets instantly uncomfortable and irritates the skin. Anything you can say about the stitching on the B&J?

Hi there, great video! I wanted to buy their strap but all of the black ones are sold out for the 20mm size. Do you think I should go with 19 or 21 for my 20mm watch? Also, how are the holes holding up? Are they heat-sealed and durable like they advertised? Thanks very much!

Hi there. I just bought my Aqua Terra 2503.50.00. Have one grey nato from bark and jack (the seat belt style) and it works well for me. Very comfy.
A watch friend offered me a Speedmaster black nato for £90. Unworn. I'm just thinking about it, but would you say the black ribbed one from bark and jack is basically just as good, or would you add the Omega one OVER the B&J?

I don't mind the price difference. £90 is good as they sell for £170 I believe. But is it worth the extra £60 over the B&J?

How does the buckle feel? Does the buckle pin move sideways? Does the buckle have a spring bar, or is it secured like an original nato?

Great hardware. Ribbed material feels the same as AliX straps.

It certainly looks a quality strap for the price but I'm really not a fan of natos.
I feel an expensive piece always looks better on a bracelet except in the case of the seamaster 300 .
