I do think this is confusing for the general consumer and your description is good enough but I would like to add that in most of these cases 120hz doesn't refer to the "motion rate" (ie PWM frequency, that would generally be much higher in modern displays, 480hz+) but is referring to a new feature of the mediatek chipsets they use inside TVs that allows for a sort of fake 120hz on 60hz panels (or 240hz on 120hz panels like the Hisense U7K/U8K and TCL QM7/QM8) when gaming.

A higher motion rate does help with producing clearer motion, but the native refresh rate is what is most important.

Just delt with this with a Sony x85k claims 120hz bought strictly for my son to play ps5 on an couldn’t get 120fps for 43 inch tv at around 700 dollars I returned it an just went with a monitor

Not true, in order for those 120hz TVs/monitors to output 120 for PS5 and XSX those monitors and TVs MUST support HDMI 2.1, if any of those screens are running 2.0, etc it will only output to 60.

So the qn85c and qn90c is native 120hz right?

Please don't "clean up the resolution" of my movies. It fills in non-existent frames and creates that god awful soap opera effect, essentially mimicking 60FPS. When you watch and movie shut that shit off and allow the native frame rate to play.
