Hidden gem in Arashiyama, Kyoto, Japan 🥰 Adashino Nenbutsu-ji

Instead of heading straight to the touristy bamboo groves, let's head north and take the less-beaten path.

First, visit Saga Toriimoto Preserved Street. I absolutely loved the traditional machiya-style homes and shops set against the backdrop of the beautiful mountains. Here, you'll find yourself immersed in its distinct and unique ambiance.

Then head to Adashino Nenbutsu-ji. Because it's situated on a hilltop and slightly away from the major tourist spots, it's extremely peaceful and serene here. It costs 500 yen to enter.
