Here are my Top 7 Things to do in Arashiyama, Japan. This is also my travel guide for Arashiyama in Kyoto, Japan! Arashiyama is a neighborhood in northwester Kyoto and has so many amazing activities including hikes, parks, food, temples, bamboo, onsens, and MUCH more!

Kakuda Kouseien (角田香勢園) is my favorite hidden gem in the area that serves fresh milled matcha by the kindest shop owner. There is a lot of street food around the area that you can buy, the Tenryu-ji temple, the bamboo forest, Station Center, Togetsu-kyo Bridge, a Monkey Park, and a foot bath all in the same area!

Thanks a lot for this video. I am visiting Japan soon and kinda overlooked Arashiyama. Thought I'd be there for just a quick 1 hour tour from Kyoto to see the bamboo forest and head back to my hostel immediately. Looks like I gotta allocate a few more hours to the Arashiyama itinerary. That Zen Temple looks sublime!

You missed one of the most wonderful stuff at Arashiyama that is "Hozugawa River boat ride". And also Sagano Romantic train ride. Train ride is suggested only for autumn or spring.
