Sorry dude, but comparing in dev mode is a bit silly. Who cares about performance in dev mode? In ionic/angular the performance magic happens when compiling. That's why you wouldn't almost notice a difference between I4 and RN in prod.

clearly he's moving his hand slower in the 2nd test

So in this test you'd be focus on which application will fill up the RAM first. RN would win since it would start with much less overhead. Eventually BOTH would run into problems including any apps written with Swift/Kotlin. if loading images just continues on and on. Load 100 images on a S20 in any platform .. the performance will appear to be the 100% the same.
Also try loading 5 RN apps on your emulator vs 5 Ionic Apps. You'll find you can flip back and forth easily with Ionic and with RN you can really only have one or two open at a time.
Main different .... how long it took to write it...and do you need 32GB RAM on your dev machine to write it.

If you write a webpage you can smooth scroll images why would ionic laggy with it? Something is going wrong...

So now be honest and replace your video with a production build demo of both ;) .

The conclusion is: Not to go with ionic if your app have long lists, unless you use virtual scroll.

Video response running the ionic version with a ion list element. Even tho it is run in live reload mode and not release it is smooth as it should be.

Why do ionic devs downvote honest tests? Sometimes it hurts.
