'Valdanito' is amongst Argentina's and Serie A's most prolific marksmen. A comfortable two-footed finisher with a dominant aerial presence, Crespo stood-out in the Italian topflight for over a decade, leading the lines for Parma, Lazio, the Milan clubs, and Genoa. Overshadowed and overlooked at times for La Albiceleste, his story deserves to be known...

I'm a Brazilian fan of São Paulo where Crespo was a coach. We hadn't won a title for 9 years, he arrived and in 3 months we won. In addition to being a great player, will definitely be a great coach. All São Paulo fans were very sad about his departure, I hope he comes back one day, he left a great impression due to his humility, intelligence, chivalry... Hernan Jorge Crespo will always be in our hearts. 🇾🇪🇧🇷

I always thought of Crespo as Batistuta’s little brother. With similar talents. What an amazing striker he was

I saw a lot of these Argentinians train before the world cup in Holland and Belgium. They had a trainingcamp in Hoenderloo, i climbed over a fence with some friends and sat next to the field in the grass. I still remember trying to talk to them and they to us. We couldn't understand eachother, but they were very friendly to us. Always when i see Crespo, Veron Batistuta or Simeone it makes me think about this. We watched them for half an hour before the police took us away.

Crespo scored a goal each 141 minutes in the Premier League, which, as far as my math can help, means somewhere around 1.5 full matches for a goal. This is better than his Serie A similar statistic, where he only has a goal scored every 154 minutes. Flop in the Premier League? No sir! Coaches did not know how to use him, which is a shame. A player like him would have become one of the best PL strikers if he would've come after 2010 to the PL.

One of the greatest finishers of all time. He’s definitely not regarded a flop at Chelsea, we all hold him in the highest regard

Man I really loved that Argentina 2006 squad. Crespo in the 2005 champions league final was the MVP in my eyes. He then followed it up in the next summer's world cup with an amazing performance as the sole number 9, without being overshadowed. Grazie for yet another banger, Mr. Retro!

One of my absolute favourite strikers as a kid in the 2000s. Great piece 👍

Should've joined Milan in 2003 and played for us for a few years. 2005 he was scoring goals that you could not fathom... The header vs Man.Utd, that chip finish in the CL Final... AC Milan 2005 is my favorite club side of all time. They were so inconsistent, but boy did they create magic like no other

Started watching football in 2006 and immediately fell in love with Crespo and became a Chelsea fan after I found out he played there. He has a special place in my heart and forever will be my favourite player :) :)

Crespo's UCL final goal with That first-timed chip with a Spin on it as well, is a moment that will forever be engraved in my mind. What a clinical and classy finish right off of some Kaka brilliance, which made it even better.

Fantastic video. Bravo. Stop calling him a Chelsea flop. He wasn’t. They just sign loads of strikers for big money so there’s a lot of politics.
Just enjoy his career as a whole .

Today's younger generation do not know of true strikers. Crespo was my favourite, especially from 2005 to 2008.

2:41, its so crazy to see Buffon there already playing in Serie A along giants like Cannavaro, Thuram and Crespo, yet he's still playing today!

Never ever forget Hernan Crespo. He's alongside Gabriel Batistuta one of the greatest Argentine strikers of all time❗️

In Italy he was insane:
To understand how good he was, he was known to score with his back heel...

Crespo is one of my favoruite footballers and was a world class striker, but I always thought that his career could have been even better. Especially after 2001, he had too many injury problems.
