Your words made me cry ❤️ I'm 21 and I'm in college. I just started creating my first game. I sit in my room all day working on my game. I'm putting alot of effort into this game. There's times where I feel to just quit and live a ordinary life and then your videos inspire me to keep working on my game. I've played never song and its my inspiration.Your story is kinda like mine. my family thinks I'm crazy and keeps asking me why I'm wasting time behind making a game. I tell my friends that one day I'm going be just like Thomas. So thank you so much for sharing your lonely story with us.. Your fans ❤️it really helped me see my true calling, I really thought you had it easy, but now I see I'm not the only one that started right at the bottom . What I've learnt from your story is that no matter hard life gets, we shouldn't give up on our dreams. Thank you again for your inspiring videos. Who knows maybe someday we'll work on something together 👍🏻❤️

I cried at 11:32 because everything you said about being exhausted and nobody being there to understand your goal felt like it was me telling myself to not lose hope. Thank you. I speak for so many people who have gone through this when I say we needed this video.

I’m teaching myself to become a game developer. I’m a junior in college, majoring in finance, which is the safest option, but it doesn’t satisfy my creative itch

I don't know if you'll read this, but I remember being obsessed with the environment art in coma. There we're a bunch of us over on this stick animation site called FluidAnims (connected to Stickpage/Hyunsdojo) who we're crazy about your game. We'd all compete to see who could make backgrounds as pretty as yours. I'd play it over and over. I loved how stripped back it was. It showed me that you didn't need complex game systems to hit someone hard emotionally. When you said you made Coma, I got the chills. I swear I've deified that game along with whoever made it for so long now and I never knew the man behind the title. I'm not crazy about Pinstripe or the Coma remake, but I admire that you confidently go your own direction of art-heavy, meaningful games. I don't think I would've pursued game development if it wasn't for Coma. Thanks a lot.

I love your content! I knew I wanted to be a game developer since I was a kid. I didn't think it was possible until I watched the indie movie when I was in highschool. I'm now done with college and looking for a job and haven't had any luck. So I started working on my first long term project that I want to release commercially. My goal is to become a full time game dev just like you! I've been really active on here and twitch posting my content and streaming hoping to gain an audience.

That entire video, from start to finish was absolutely breath taking. You are an inspiration to thousands, but still somehow make your work feel personal. This really spoke to me. Thank you for continuing to inspire Thomas!

I really needed to hear this man. I am currently have been in the marine corps for almost 4 years now and I've been trying to figure out what i wan to do for the future. I'm am a firm believer that I should do something that makes me happy before considering the money, but chasing your dreams is scary cause they're usually more risky. ever since I was a kid I wanted to be an artist but over the years I "got real" and put that to the side. however, if there's one thing that i learned while in service its to have confidence and to perpetually work hard to achieve the things you want while remaining humble and a constant student to any thing that may help on the road to success. Your story gives me hope, and makes me excited for the days when I can focus on my on the thing I love too. Thank you for sharing with us all, and I hope you keep doing more work as I do look forward to all your creations!

I'm Jad, a 20 year old game design and programming student at Uppsala University Campus Gotland. Your words and videos inspire me to improve myself and devote more time into learning how to make games. It is truly my passion, I enjoy every single step of the process, although, that doesn't mean I don't feel down sometimes or unmotivated. I try to stay positive, think of why I'm doing this, what I want to achieve. When I'm working with my teammates I think of how lucky I am having such great people by my side, and that gives me the extra push I need to persevere . Shaping an idea into a game is a beautiful thing. I know that because I've done it multiple times now, and I plan on continuing. I made a small arcade game with my friends called KeyRivals for a game jam on itchio which I'm pretty proud of. Watching indie creators like you, working hard and achieving something makes me hopeful I will also some day make a successful game and share it with people on a large scale to enjoy. Thanks for being you Thomas, I apreciate you very much 💯.
