It used to had same Clone of Mega Drive 2 I bought from Saudi Arabia back in 2005. It has 368 in 1 bootleg games but had only 5 games with repeated levels.😃

Only 3 reals megadrive games built in, the 2 others are homebrews of old 80's games. for the cartridges it makes the job.

PAL Vs NTSC, PAL being run on 50Hz runs 17% slower than NTSC at 60Hz... Hence the music sounds slower than what you would be used to in North American region... These are clones of Japanese Mega drives, which ran at 83% of NTSC clock speed... Thats why the music sounds off to some people.

The Mega Drive you have there behaves exactly the same as an ATGAMES Mega Drive system.

1. It's bypassing the 50Hz checksum in each rom which detects whether a particular rom is optimised in audio or audio and visual. 50% of PAL games were not optimised while the other 50% were. Sonic 1 was supposed to have slow music in PAL regions while the Streets Of Rage games were not supposed to. Your Mega Drive also is set to PAL Japan which is why the text was in Japanese in Streets Of Rage 2.

2. The audio is way out of pitch. The PSG is in another whole out of key range compared to the FM audio.

3. It's simply a system on a chip which doesn't support large games like Sonic 3 & Knuckles or Super Street Fighter II.

I own the SD card slot version that has better built in games on the console. I paid $60 for it and it included an SD card of 99% of the library. I love it for the price. It's an updated and better version of this one. Sonic sounds OK on it. Some games sound fine on it and others don't, yet I'm not bothered by it.

No-ones yet commented that its not based on your european region or even the north american..its case is almost identical to the japan home market version..of course its different inside but its a replica of japanese/asian market md2..check out youtuber adam koraliks video on all 3 originals..clean and restore of one..ok..nice video here though of this clone..interesting to see how chinese retro manufacturers have put 8 and 16bit consoles on a chip connected by ribbons to other pcb's..I havnt seen one yet with a full size board inside..but then I havnt seen inside all the retrons yet..Specs

Not only is the audio way off in Sonic 1, the whole game runs slower. You can see footage of the game running at normal speed, it's way faster than this.
It seems all games run slower on this bootleg Mega Drive.
