Yes it's interesting. I have been called "Apinya" by a couple of female friends. Still no idea what it means but it sounds cool 🤣🤣🤣

My Thai wife has multiple nicknames depending on the particular social circle.... family, work, school, friends, , etc. Also, we've been married more than 30 years and I'd say I don't know the real first names of most of our Thai friends.

That's like in the states. In the community we give nicknames. Popcorn, CornPop, mine was Crash because I was in a wreck 1 time. Lol. Red for the red hair and so other inventful nicknames. Always means you are in the game. It's an honor to get a streetname.
