That Mexican Mama who knows that adding lemon on Pancit makes it even better is much appreciated by the Filipino community ❤ She knows how to eat our food ❤❤❤

Historically Mexico and Philippines have had a very long relationship via the Galleon trades. Fruits and vegetables to Mexico and Gold to the Philippines. In fact there are Filipinos to this day that can trace their lineage to Mexico and visa versa. Every time I am in Mexico City I feel at home. I love Mexico, the people and of course the food! 🇵🇭❤️🇲🇽

Filipinos and Mexicans have history. Heck, even the filipino language has a TON of Spanish words that have the exact same meaning like Mesa (table), kusina (kitchen), kumusta (Como esta), puwede (puede), silya (chair), etc. It's amazing, we are historically cousins. Love from 🇵🇭 living in 🇨🇦

Im filipino, but always grew up around a large Mexican community in socal. I had Mexican friends at school and other places such as church and work. I’m amazed to see the similarities in the two cultures when it comes to both food and sense of community.

Many years ago, I worked with a physician from Central America. He was familiar with the Chinese Filipino foods like lumpia and pancit because that was the Filipino food the Filipino nurses would bring for potluck lunches during the holidays. So one day, he found a Filipino restaurant in the next town. According to him, he recognized the Filipino food he knew likw pancit, but he also saw food that looked like his country's food. So he ordered some of it along with the Chinese Filipino food. That became his favorite restaurant because he could eat Chinese type food and Central American type food at the same time on the same plate.😂

You should have given them Filipino Menudo and have them compare it with the Mexican Menudo 😄

interesting fact! The Philippines was under the administration of Mexico when it was newly colonized by Spain, and our creole spanish in the Philippines is very similar to Mexican Spanish! Also, I have read somewhere that up to 12 percent of Tagalog(I'm not too sure of any other dialects, but I'm pretty sure they've been influenced too) words are derived from quechua and nahuatl!

You have summoned my country! All jokes aside, I’m so happy you guys liked our food. Also, I did my DNA and I have Native American blood in me even though we’re full Filipino. The site told me that Mexicans went to the Philippines as slaves or merchants with the Spanish and over the years, copulated with the native Filipino population. So, we have Mexican blood/Native American ancestry in a lot of people. Cool, huh?

I would love to see ths Mamas reaction to food names that they are familiar with but done a bit differently by Filipinos like Tamales, Polvoron, Menudo, Torta and Leche Flan among others. Hablo Espanol pero un poco solo. Viva Mexico! 🇲🇽 Viva Las Islas de Filipinas! 🇵🇭
