My fall knitting plans for 2024 are a little bit pared back, but I am still just as excited for the season as years past. In this video, I'm chatting about the sweater patterns and accessories that I am eager to get on my needles in the next few months, and a lot of these projects are featuring some of the most affordable yarns in my collection, including options from Michael's, Knit Picks, and a new-to-me wholesaler of undyed yarns. All of the details are below.

Enjoy!

Congratulations on the new teaching position. No doubt about it you will rise and navigate through all of the “newness” and your knits and this amazing community will be along for the ride to support you! I love the meaning and intention behind the Stella Quilt pillow. It’s going to be gorgeous. Happy Fall Emily! Look forward to hearing how things go with the projects, yarn and life!

I think you will be happy with Patons wool. I used it frequently in the past knitting sweaters, hats and mittens for my children. Hand washes well and wears well. I knit for my 5 children and sweaters were passed down to younger kids, then nieces and nephews.

I like the look of the Judy Sweater...thank you for bringing it to my attention. One of my current projects is the Book Club Shawl. It's my first time using Lion Brand Fishermen's Wool and it's showing wonderful definition, and I'm liking the feel of it. It's so economical, I'm hoping it wears well

I'm currently using Patons Classic Wool for the Lana Vest by Irene Lin. I blocked mid-project, and the yarn is great. It does soften up a bit and has more drape, as opposed to when you're knitting with it. The cables definitely pop.

Good luck with your new job, Emily! Now that you have quite a few videos, perhaps, you can reuse some clips for "looking back" or "lessons learned" to save some time..?

I love Patons yarn! It's what I learned to knit with and still use to this day! Surprisingly, it's perfect for socks despite not having nylon! I'm super hard on my socks and used to wear them every day in the winter when I lived in Edmonton and they lasted so so so well.

Love your plans! The judy sweater has been on my mind ever since I marlene made it. Can't wait to see your version! Also love the tweed yarn you showed and the lace sweater with cotton merino. These are some great plans emily!😊 Wishing you all the best for your back to school journey - I'm a teacher as well, so I really know these feelings too well. It is going to be alright, I'm sure you are a great teacher!😊

Congratulations on your new teaching position! Sounds like a great new opportunity 🫶🏻

Right now I’m really into colour work knits after having dappled in it and two of my (many 😅) planned knits is the I’m Batty For Halloween Socks by StoneKnits and the Mudo by thepetiteknitter 😊

Hi! Love your channel! Two quick things - Michaels is one of several stores that offer educator discounts on all purchases - you have to register but it’s very simple to do. Also - I just knit the Framed sweater in Patons Classic Wool worsted and I love it. I wanted to show friends it would look just as lovely in a budget-friendly yarn. Take care and wishing you a great start to school! 💕 Lorien

So jazzed about your fall knitting plans! Yes to simple, familiar construction heading into this academic year- I'm on that path as well. Thrilled that you are considering using the Norwegian yarn!

Ah I’m so tempted to make an Amy sweater but I have so many other plans already. Just casted on my sweater no. 15 for the beginning of fall and then will knit sari nordlunds lumme once it cools off a bit more.

I would love a podcast of all your favourite to wear knits for any of the seasons. If it’s already up, please point me toward it
