He Built This Incredible Tiny House for the Cost of Two Years’ Rent

The Hodgepodge Tiny House is perfectly imperfect. This impressive DIY tiny home was amazingly built for the cost of only two years rent. Constructed almost entirely form reclaimed and discarded materials, this home was a true labour of love and the result of that labour is an absolute joy to behold.

Julius has affectionately named his home Hodgepodge, a playful reference to the eclectic materials used in its construction. There are some real treasures that can be found second hand on the internet and even at dumps and this tiny house has become a wonderful collection of them.

Despite the eclectic collection of materials this home is crafted from, everything works perfectly together in this home. It's beautiful and packed full of character. The home also enjoys some unique design features too!

I absolutely love the multi-generational living that comes with this family compound also. Three generations living on the land together and making it something truly special.

We hope you enjoy this episode! Thanks so much for watching.

We are back with our first episode of 2025! After a much needed break, we are so excited to be back again with a brand new season of tiny home tours. I think we're off to a great start with this one too! I absolutely love the hodgepodge style of this tiny home and the way that all these eclectic materials have come together so perfectly. We hope you enjoy the tour! Thanks so much for watching and supporting our show. With love, Bryce & Rasa

Not only do I love the house & grounds but I very much enjoyed hearing his honest insights & feelings he experienced along the way. Very refreshing. It was also nice to hear him giving credit to others, especially you & Rasa for exposing so many of us to the tiny home culture.❤❤

Being humble shows forth…Gratitude for his friends who helped, his parents for the land…The Tiny House of Love❤️❤️❤️

I really appreciate this fellow's acknowledgment of everyone who helped him build his home, as well as the original owners and ancestors of the land. I also appreciate, Bryce, your inclusion of these "alternative" thinkers. We can do whatever we put our minds to, but unfortunately, many of us have forgotten that, or are afraid to stretch and test ourselves.

What a delight this Hodgepodge Tiny House is - and how kind and thoughtful of Julius - to pay back and forward with his praise. Resourcing materials is always the best - but resourcing the ideas from this channel is brilliant. Having followed it for years - it's always a joy to see ideas furthered and expanded. What a wonderful community this channel has made possible. Thank you Bryce and Rasa!

This young man is such a treasure! I love the rustic look of his home. So inviting, tranquil, and comfy. He's certainly an inspiration, not just with his home but also with his approach to life. You always find the coolest people, Bryce. Thank you!

What a wonderful young man. The gratefulness and gratitude feel like they are part of his being and not just something that is said. Very uplifting episode 🙌

I appreciate Julius sharing his mental health issues when he finished his build. We are usually only presented with the upside. We can feel that there is something wrong with us if we are having issues when we are living our dream. Thank you.

This home has a soul! One of the best I have seen on the channel actually. Beautifully executed indeed.

Nice of him to talk about the mental health stage of finishing big life events. So true and not discussed enough. This bloke is very intune to himself. Good on him.

This is exactly what I love about the tiny house community. Thankyou Julius for sharing your lovely home and being so vocal about paying respect to the people before you who made their own homes. Rasa and Bryce, thankyou for doing what you do. Take a bow, this beautiful home is a result of work that you do. ❤️

Much as I love those amazing designer houses, tinies such as this, hand-cobbled together using salvaged items/wood etc, have the character and quirkiness lacking in those others. Here's to hotchpotch houses! Julius expresses so much gratitude to friends and family and you, Bryce & Rasa, without whose help he couldn't have created this delightful home. What a lovely fellow he is.
