This scene hits different when you’ve had a vaguely similar moment in life. Your parent crushing you down and then immediately offering you salvation in embrace and you having no other choice but to give in. And that’s how you realize the sheer amount of power your parent has over you.

Jeremy goes from a grown man to a little boy who was never given as much love as he should have gotten as a child. The little boy that never really grew up.

just look at Ken's hands while he is hugging Logan. He wants to hug his father tight, but he cannot. The history between them is restraining the kid inside him who needs his parent the most. A little but brilliant detail

It was simply masterful how Logan thought up getting Gerri and Karolina to dress up in a deer suit and wait in the middle of the road. Wonderful hidden detail.

Most intriguing aspect of this scene is Marcia. She’s a quiet player in all of this Roy family, but she’s a total shark. She knows how to play this game better than any of Logan’s kids.

Ive had "youre my boy" in my head for a few days. It could mean "i love you, youre safe in my arms", but it really means "youre literally mine. I own you".

I love how even though Logan spreads his arms for a hug as a symbolic gesture, giving Kendall the opportunity to non-verbally accept his deal it still turns into a very real emotional moment between father and son. And after securing his loyalty through intimidation Logan instead of gloating or insulting him genuinely comforts his son at his lowest moment, showing a completely uncharacteristic display of fatherly affection and reattaching the toxic bond that has defined Kendall's life.

I don't know if this was deliberate or not (it probably was), but the fact that the caterer's name is never mentioned is really interesting to me. To the Roys, he's just some nameless member of the working class, whose death is but a small speedbump on their path to power.

Goddamn. Just started this show and binged S1 in three days. This scene left such a hollow, cold feeling in my stomach. Logan's got him now. The little shit's made several attempts at a power grab but this ensures that stops. All that warmth, the comforting embrace; he's gloating in victory. That kiss was a message, "You're going to stop coming at me now, son. I know. I know and I can make sure everyone knows. It stops. Now."

God this show rules. Annoyed I ignored it until now.

I love how those Kids crave affection from the parents so much. The minute his father offered him a hug which he knew would break kendall. Kendall gave up instantly for that affection. Plus Logan putting it in his head your my number 1 boy, when his the 2nd son manipulation at its best keeping up Kendalls ego slightly even after he destroyed it seconds ago. Than just having someone take kendall away in such a casual way showing he meant none of it ugh. Such a great scene.
