Hi Jim Bob,
i bought one of these on your recommendation and it arrived today Took a while to get here, but it is holiday season.
impressed, . the sweet spot for an alcohol burner is 1 inch, which is spot on, but place the stand over the burner and you get 2 inches plus. ideal for eggs etc and slow cooking.
Very impressed. I can work with this. Well done Jim Bob.

Looks good. Lots of kit doesn’t need to be expensive to do the job. Thanks for sharing. Take care and stay safe.

I bought a simliar stove (Redcamp brand) some months ago and give it a four star out of five. A great stove and stand for hiking and emergency use. I tested it in the field and feel a windscreen will improve boil time. I make mine from a couple of aluminium cans. This is a great stove kit. I may buy another for my emergercy bug out kit.

I just had to get me one of these do-hickeys, after watching this video.
Arrived here yesterday and today I tested it in my greenhouse (warmer in there and sheltered from the showers). The outer ring ignited with a bloomin great WHOOMPH which nearly scared the crap out of me. But my teapot boiled really quite quickly and made a decent brew, so yeah, an impressive piece of kit.

Enjoyed that JB. Looks good. I've never understood why Trangia don't put the handle on the simmer ring too. Many thanks for sharing with us. Ben

Good review mate, surprising that they can be made for the price plus shipping! The stand is a big bonus AND if the lid fits properly and avoids leaks top job. There are a few exactly like this one on ebay / amzon for around a tenner, generic design I think. Cannot go wrong trying them out at that price. Have you carried it full and did it leak? Thanks for sharing.

If you have the mk2 crusader stove the burners fit in them perfectly no need for firedragon or that stand that comes with the burner

That's a handy little beast 😊 you could make a little depression in the ground for the burner to give it a bit more stability.... xx

Great video. The stove should not sit on the floor, bend the 3 lugs in slightly so the stove sits on the 3 lugs off the bottom. I can see that at least 1 of the lugs has bent out slightly
