Gutted. The best rhythm guitarist has left the stage.  R.I.P Rick, thanks for many years of great songs. I still have the 1984 End of the road tour jacket in my wardrobe! Play on in the great unknown mate.

I’m an aging old punk but I had always had time for quo, they just knocked it out of the park. If you don’t move to their music then your dead.

Deeply admire this man, not for his lifestyle, but for his personality and musical talent. After having been thru 3 heart attacks, alcohol and drug problems, 2 divorces and the death of his daughter, he kept going. The cause of his death was ridiculous. A fucking infection. Miss you Ricky, rock on.

How can anyone not like, respect and admire Rick?? A 'Rock Legend'. Great to see at the start of this video the original Telecasters, 'TRUE WORKHORSES!. We all miss Ricks unsurpassed contribution to pure and simple 'engine room' rhythm anthems. Met the guys on a number of occasions.

Rick was put on this earth to be in Quo but was devastatingly taken away from us too young. RIP(Rock in peace) Rick.

30 years ago at the age of 8, I made myself a cardboard guitar from old boxes and stuck pieces of string to it with sticky tape. I had no idea really what I was doing but luckily my dad recognised my first love. It was a white telecaster with black pick guard and that paved the way for a lifelong romance with the guitar, but more importantly, with Status Quo. My dad took me to see them about 10 times over the years and it's some of my fondest memories. Rick Parfitt was my hero. The self-proclaimed 'engine room' of the band it's impossible not to nod your head whilst watching him. I had no idea what I was watching was not just special, but also so precious. I feel blessed to have been able to stand so close to him at such a young age and feel the vibrations of the loudest possible experience on earth! I'll never forget Rick going and fetching Fran to come and watch this 10 year old boy jump up and down amongst a sea of older guys, only for them both to acknowledge me whilst they rocked my whole world. Thank you Rick and Quo. I am forever grateful and I look forward to introducing my young son to your music for years to come x

Mid 70’s Michigan palace theater! Three bands, five bucks! Rush, Kansas and Status Quo! Very next week, Heart, Kansas and Status Quo! These guys came out with no fanfare, almost completely unknown to Detroit, in front of a beat up wall of Sound City amps! Forever changed my life! Thank you fellas!
