This is exactly how my ex was and over time it just got worse and worse and I ended up leaving what was ultimately an abusive situation, so this guy really really rubs me the wrong way. However I do give him credit for that mature conversation they were able to have and truly hope that's a glimpse into a happy and loving and understanding life together

Imagine being in a marriage with someone who says they don't know if you love them or if you're actually in love with them.. If marrying the guy doesn't show him she's in love with him..I don't think there's anything SHE can do to help him believe it. He's gotta chill. She's just been so clear that she is IN LOVE with him. She wants him there. She married him. And she was so gentle about the convo.

Mans appears to potentially have some past trauma. That OR he may feel he loves Lily but isn't IN love with her.. and meeting her made him realize it.

I like them! So it sucks to see them (mainly Josh) struggle.

I think that conversation was very healthy and it went very well.They were both opened on how they felt, and that was really good of them to do that.I feel bad and I understand the insecurities... Because of the trauma I went through with my ex husband😢 It's hard for me to open up a guy when i was literally only with one man who emotionally and physically abused me and isolated me from my family 😢 i am to scared to even get close to a man again... its hard and kinda exhausting because of everything i went through 😢 and i hate being left on read so much and i get tired of feeling i am the only one trying i married my highschool sweetheart and ive been with only one person...

Josh's insecurities and jealousy are not Lily's to bear or solve. This is why long distance relationships fail most of the time. His accusations of 'you love me, but, you're not in love with me.' That won't change any time soon. Run, Lily. He's a control freak and you don't deserve that.

There is no way you could be married/planning to marry and still accuse your partner as cheating with other men. That simply tells you don’t have enough trust to be married, and also the low impression you have of your spouse. As someone who is married to an American and did the long distance thing before hand, we had jealousy issues on the start of the relationship (hard to avoid because we don’t know each other enough) but if I am already committed, I would hate if my partner keeps thinking the worst of me.
I can imagine this on younger couples but the fact that he is 47 and she is probably older, they should know better than get married when the relationship still has doubts and lack of basic respect.
P/s: Also there is culture differences in terms of showing affections, what I can say for me as an Asian, I don’t really do it well in expressing them frequently (physically and vocally) so maybe she didn’t think it was a big deal when he was seeking all those assurances. I guess they just need to learn their love languages and understand each other. Hopefully that doubts go away in time

We associate the insecurity with women... but men actually exhibit it more: read: 1 in 4 women experience intimate partner violence as opposed to 1 in 7 men. Domestic violence is textbook insecure attachment.

Josh, has a slew of issues. I dont believe Lily can do anything to remedy his insecurity. He is a grown man and needs to behave as such. He needs a JOB and a life of his own. There are a zillion jobs that he could obtain ( even remotely). He has nothing to offer Lily, let alone any anyone.
