In this video, we're showing a tech tip about how to run wires from the cargo light to the front of your truck. This tip applies specifically to 2015-Newer Ford F-150 trucks and 2017-Newer Ford Super Duty trucks. However, this same method or a similar method will work for a variety of other vehicles.

We are often asked how we run wires from the cargo light to the front of the truck and in this video we'll show you our preferred method. You will need a fish tape that will slide into a hole behind the third brake light. Using the fish tape, you will run the wiring between the roof structure and the headliner over to the corner of the cab.

You will have to remove the weather stripping around the door frame in order to continue running your wires.

**TWO IMPORTANT NOTES:
First, remember to carefully remove the weather stripping so that you retain the shape. Second, DO NOT WRAP WIRES AROUND YOUR AIRBAGS. We'll show you two different ways to run the wires so that you do not impact your air bag function.

We hope this video helps you with your install!

Thank you! Can you do more videos like these? I'd love to see how you get your builds done.

I’m wondering if you can run the plastic tie to the right side instead of to the left side as shown? The battery on my F150 is on the passenger side of the engine compartment and it would be more direct.

If the cargo light circuit comes from the fuse panel, why not trace the circuit and tap into it in the engine bay instead? I'm no expert, just curious.
