I love the idea of learning and knowledge as self care / self therapy!

You know Lindsey, you're probably not going to see this, but your comment about how studying the past helped with your dread of your place in the universe really resonated with me. It's the same reason I got really into astronomy at a young age and eventually the history of Earth. Makes me happy that someone else understands

Edit: I stand corrected. She did see it!!! Freaking love this channel

I grew up not just deeply christian but young earth creationist (if you know Johnathon Park you've seen some shit) and I didn't move away from that shit until my mid to late teens, and it wasn't until the last couple years where I really started going hard on the learning of actual science that I missed out on growing up. The idea of the history of life being almost a worldview and a way of coming to terms with the existential roller coaster is something that's been hard to explain to people but I feel like you hit it perfectly. Really resonated, especially coming from one of the channels that's really helped me learn what a cool world we ACTUALLY live in.

As much as I love your uninhibited presentation manners, I love your commitment to hardcore scientific method even more. Your willingness to show that new discoveries may change current theory is a balm to my soul. "This is how life evolved...as we understand it right now."

Keep up the good work!

I’m having my existential panic/ anxiety now at 25 and have been watching you and a few others on similar topics and learning about evolution ect to help distract me and this is just what I needed ❤️❤️

I have literally been so excited for this series. I can’t wait to watch every video in it over and over again as they come out. Big W for Lindsay fans.

I think you kind of hit the nail on the head with what makes evolution so fascinating. The fact that _every_ living thing on Earth is connected together in this process that's been happening for longer than we can even start to conceive is really awe inspiring. It's definitely one of the factors that led to my own interest in evolution!

Sounds awesome Lindsay. Looking forward to watching the series progress over the next year. I watched Aron Ra's Systematic Classification of Life series as it progressed and was totally wrapped up in it. Here we go again!!

As a writer that is deep into creating animals and monsters, i absolutely love your content. It helps come up with animal backgrounds and evolutionary tricks, the specific functions an animal can have, and even how their bodies might look. I appreciate you as a creator and i am so ecstatic for this series

A little bummed that we aren't starting with the Ediacaran freaks but I'm glad you mentioned you'll get to the precambrian stuff eventually!

Been looking forward to this one! Evolutionary biology is my JAM! So glad we can all share in that!

thank you for sharing that you got existential anxiety you got from trying to sort out your place in the macro scale of the history of everything. i used to feel the same way. i love that you channeled it into an education, and now your channel so you can teach us cool stuff.

Dude! That’s so cool how you got into all of this basically to quell your fears; I did the same thing pretty much when I had cancer and was recovering from a gnarly surgery. I got really into WWI and it totally gave me a new perspective on life and all the commodities we take for granted. Now I’m a history nut 😅 but yeah, right on, can’t wait for this!!

Great to see your enthusiasm. I retired from being paid as a habitat biologist with Cdn Fisheries & Oceans and immediately (next day) started a wee company to do basically & happily the same thing. Am looking forward to your series.

2:03 Lindsey just “gets it”. This is why we all love you and your videos so much. You can’t really fake this sort of passion.

I felt the crisis part. I started having the same spouts freshman year of highschool, then it developed into… well hours upon hours of learning about the history of our planet. Literally could write a book with the amount of information I have collected to sooth my “I’m going to die I’m going to be forgotten, oh my god what comes after” in me
