**Some assertions I make about war in this video, (like the atomic bomb wasn't necessary) may seem counter intuitive or against common wisdom. However, I actually have a degree in History and Economics.

Other Sources:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DDOS, also known as distributed denial of service, attacks are both a means of cyber warfare and tool for disrupting and shutting down servers. There are a variety of protocols that can used to launch a DDOS attacks, ICMP, TCP, Peer to Peer, (s) Syn Floods, HTTP---each is a way of confusing and overwhelming the server or the server's DNS. Currently DDOS attacks are launched largely underground by individuals or small collective organizations and they've been more nuisance than disaster.

However the power of DDOS attacks have been growing steadily and they now have the potential to wreak havoc. This video voices concerns about what would happen if two industrialized countries (China, Russia, Japan) were to square off in our now global economy.

In 2015 the internet and the United State's economy are inextricably intertwined, and a powerful concentrated attack on the internet would be an attack on our economy. And history shows weak economies lose wars. And don't think cell phones are immune to DDOS attacks either. DDOS attacks have the potential to take down phone communication as well.

That music is annoying especially while you're speaking.

It really annoyed me that you cut the music while the only actual expert in your video spoke, then you implied that he was boring everyone.

Maybe if you actually listened to expert sources you could make more educated guesses about what a full scale cyber war would look like.

There are certain countermeasures the US could take against full scale cyber warfare from China, for example, simply blocking all packets that originated in China. The Chinese could still route packets through other continents, but starting with this would drastically reduce the effect of DDoS attacks.

A more knowledgable person than me could probably come up with several cleverer ways of protecting against attacks. Who knows, maybe there would be no loss of internet services? Ironically, you would have to ask an expert.
