Fastest ALCO Train of India. Single ALCO hits 122 kmph with 22-coach Bandra - Ghazipur Express. Surprisingly, this train gets a single WDM-3D from Ratlam shed despite the long acceleration duration, while many other trains these days (with mps of 100-110 kmph and 18-20 coach load) are getting ALCO twins.

ALCO locomotives are easy to maintain and robustly built. That's why in many countries you will find old Alcos are still running. In Australia one Alco is 62 year old and still going strong. In Bangladesh one is 70 year old but doing doing local duties.

Thanks for posting. Indeed very strange that such a heavy load is being hauled by a single ALCO. In the United States this load would have been hauled by a 4000hp X 3 locos detail.
