AB Surveyors was working on draft survey and weight control during port operations.
Draft surveys have the purpose of determining the weight of any cargo loaded or discharged from a ship. It measures the displacement of the water both before and after the loading or unloading, with the resulting difference between the two displacements representing the weight of the cargo.
AB Surveyors™, team is composed of experienced and qualified cargo surveyors attending any type of ship or vessel, and producing an independent draft survey report.
Depending on our customer requirements we use our own templates, checklists and reports or we follow their documents and instructions.
AB Surveyors™, carries out independent draft surveys on behalf of Ship Operators, Ship Owners, Insurance Companies, P&I Clubs, Buyers, Sellers, Importers, exporters, etc.
We carry out draft surveys according to defined international guidelines and always considering several key factors. This factors include; Sea water density; Changes in the ballast between initial and final draft readings; Changes in the vessel’s fresh water, bunkers, etc.; Trim and deformation corrections, using data from the vessel’s draft tables.
We also take in account the sea condition, pitch and swell, as it affects the accuracy of the calculation.
We carry out Draft Surveys in ports of Castellón, Valencia, Sagunto, Gandía and Alicante.
