I'm glad to see you were able to get yours back from the dead, it gives me hope for mine. Mine was a gift from my husband for our 1st wedding anniversary and 5 months later he ain't looking too good. Guess we are just gonna have to take it slow and build a good routine.

A banana grows like grass, the grow point is at soil level. If the biggest one gets to old (or big) cut it off and continue with the pups . Leaves are made to split because outside it helps with wind (big leaves act like sails, and can snap, so if it rips controlled into smaller leaves it wont damage as much)

It’s always amazing when I see banana plants grown in the house. I live in the tropics and banana plants are outside with massive fruit. But I always appreciate how banana plants can be a houseplant as well.

It is called guttation. It is not a problem. Guttation is the secretion of water droplets from the pores of some vascular plants like grass. It usually occurs as a consequence of a combination of high root pressure and high humidity. This often occurs just after sunrise when the plant becomes active, the humidity is high and usually after you've watered the plant. Alocasias do it too.
It means your plant has enough water in its system, even a bit much, so it lowers it's 'water pressure' like this.

My parents live in sidmouth, Devon. They. Planted a banana in the garden. They now have about 20! And…. Last summer they had two bunches of BANANAS!!! They grow so big! I have two of their babies which I over wintered in my conservatory. They are dormant right now but potting them up this spring to go outside (I’m in wales). Fun times!!

We bought one from Home Dept. for our patio. First time for us and just wanted to make sure we didn't over or under water it.

I bought 2 Truly Tiny Musa Banana's to experiment with over the summer. I put one in pon and the other in a more moisture retaining soil mix. The one in soil is doing pretty well, but the one in pon is absolutely thriving! I ended up giving the pon banana to my mom, but I think I'm going to swap mine to pon here soon too. Its also just so much easier to keep up with the watering in pon since these plants are so thirsty

Your plant looks gorgeous omg! My first banana plant died years ago, but having a big banana indoor plant was always my dream so i bought a small one again recently, but it's looking so sad again, all the lower leaves turned yellow and dried off, and i thouth that it needed even less water so i didn't water it much. But after your video i'm sure that was the issue.. 😅🙈

Also not enough light, i live in central europe and never have a sunlight in my apartment, so i just bought a grow light.. wish me luck that i will save this little plant!

Ugh I'm struggling with my banana. I also cut a lot of the leaves back that had big brown spots. Put it out in the sun yesterday and I guess I burned the leaves 🤦🏿‍♀️ the edges have browned and are curling upward. I'm really struggling 😂

I've got 3 dwarf and 3 truly tiny banana plants and I'm excited to get fruit from them.

This is my one plant that always struggles and I've been so frustrated not to be able to find a solution. No matter what I try, its leaves consistently turn brown around the edges. It always starts with healthy green leaves, only to wilt and give up a couple of months later. I'll try adjusting my watering routine. Thanks for your advice.

For me I prefer TPS Nutrients since it's not as high as most and my plants love it especially their root booster

I remember your banana plant to have its leafs sort of stuck inside the stem, so that they would be all really really close together (I hope you know what I mean by that, sorry 😅). It doesn’t look like that in the video at all tho - what did you change? Because right now I have that same struggle with my banana plant :( any tips would be highly appreciated 😊

Hello.
Just have a quick question.
I recently bought a Banana Dwarf Cavendish and all is going well.
Just wondering about the leaves.
Mine are mostly nice and green but I notice little brown cuts or something here and there on the leaves, or chew marks but they are not chew marks as it is inside an there are no bugs other than the little microscopic ones that move around if you blow on the soil.
Also, if the curl a bit is that normal?
Thank you for your time.
