Del was a bit of a plonker in this episode, but it’s one of the best examples of him using his working class roots to get the better of a snob.

My father in law bought a violin off a Yorkshire man when he worked down the pit, instead of fighting in the second world war as a bevin boy, it had Stradivarius wrote on it on the inside, him and his son went to Christie's in London in the early 80s to get it valued, it wasn't a strad said the valuer but said it was a good German violin and was worth between one and two hundred pounds, they brought it home

He didn't get swindled at all, did the bbc staff who wrote this headline actually understand
Was a stolen painting by there gran, so they knew it couldn't be sold, miranda conned del boy, and got her family to swear it had been in there possession many years
This meant nod at auction would be uncovered as stolen and no links to del boy family, only miranda family will lose out
