The Youngbloods - Get Together (Cover)

Get Together by The Youngbloods is such a beautiful song that really captures the spirits of the 60's, while still being relevant today. I always wanted to play this tune properly on the guitar but couldn't really find a satisfying way to do so, I kept going back and forth, I experimented with some alternate tunings, trying to find a proper way to play the two guitars in one while still capturing the essence of the original vibe/feel. Finally after many attempts I tuned my guitar to Open D tuning, put a capo on the 5th fret and discovered that it was possible! YESSS!!!haha :)

BIG PLUS - I convinced Lital to sing a verse :))

Get Together was written by Chet Power. It was recorded and released by The Youngbloods in 1967.

Lead Vocals, bass - Lital Regev

Mix & Mastering- Amir Darzi

For the guitarists ( and all the others) who have never played bass before, it’s very difficult to sing a melody while playing the bass as bass line is never what the melody does. If you want to experience it with a guitar, try to play Lady Madonna and sing it… Good luck ! So on this song Lital shows how talented she is. That takes years of practise. Beautiful !

3 things I want to say . 1st, Wow. 2nd, how did these kids get turned on to real music. 3rd, the song is not easy to play. Congrats to them both. Wow.

If this doesn't get millions of views and tens of thousands of likes than something is seriously wrong.

The harmonic association of the two voices is a very melodious union worthy of the spirit of the 60s. Congratulations.

A song from my youth which I haven’t heard in decades resurrected in such a vibrant fashion. I am blown away at the quality of this cover.

Really really beautiful, just a stunning performance. Not only is Lital a beautiful lady who plays the bass beautifully, but such a beautiful voice too, she needs to sing more solo bits in the videos, what a treat !

Great attention to detail in the bass part. Jesse Colin Young is underrated as a bassist. I’m glad Lital agreed to sing a verse. She sounds great!

Wooow, you made my day ❤❤ An anthem so close to my heart and soul, golden age of music!
And a wonderful surprise bonus from Lital on lead 👌👌
(What an inspiration to compose this song by Chet Power aka Dino Valenti from QMS 😗😗)

I'm down a YouTube rabbit hole with cover versions of this song. So relevant today as it was in 1967. Nicely done!

AWWW ! So SPECIAL ! The surprise!!! Lital totally nailed the lead, and your dropping about, one octave ?? for back-up harmony was an amazing mix. I hope you both realize how much you are both are appreciated from out here.

How utterly beautiful! I was transported back to 1969 at Bard College in New York State where, on a warm spring evening, I was entranced as they played this. They were a special group whose music enveloped you like warm honey. It's hard to believe that this soft ballad was written by Chet Powers (aka Dino Valente of Quicksilver fame). But the two of you are a treasure, and renditions of Sunlight or Darkness, Darkness would be just sublime...
