It worked on my 2014 pro. Thank you. For those who are having trouble please watch the video till the end. Install the Xcode first before running the patch. I did the patch first and it was not working. But it worked after installing the Xcode

This is one of the best How-to video I've ever seen. The reference instructions at the end are ultra helpful. TY

Is pretty weird that Apple disabled this feature in older macs to 2016 (which are still pretty powerful for that simple feature). Glad exist a way to make it work and it is as easily to do.

Works well on my 2017 MacBook Air. Only MacBook Airs produced in 2018 and after have Sidecar. I’d just missed it. Very pleased. Thanks for the video.

It worked for me on a 2012 iMac 27" with a new iPad Pro 12.9". Thanks, the instructions were very easy to follow.
With regards to the quality, now I know why Apple disabled it on this Mac. There's a lot of flickering and digital pixelation. I found a workaround. After noticing that the cursor was rendering fine, I hypothesized that it was the complex background that was tripping up the render engine. I changed the background of the iPad Sidecar screen to a solid colour and voila, it's all nice and smooth. I won't be able to use the iPad for video but simple static screens like my calendar, To Do list, Finder, etc will render nicely and remain relatively stable. I've used it for Photoshop and it's usable but don't expect it to remain very clear if it's a complex drawing.

THIS IS one of the best "how to" videos I have ever come across on the entire youtube, in regards to how the material presented and video made. u do rock.

I've tried this and it works! 2018 iPad with Apple Pencil, and late 2013 MacBook Pro. THANK YOU SO MUCH! I've been trying to figure this out for a while and I couldn't have done it without your help. Your channel deserves so many more views and subscribers than you have. Keep up the good content!

It worked for me, but it was rather slow, pixelated, and laggy. I used an early 2015 Macbook pro and and a (2017ish) iPad Pro 10.5 inch. Also, be sure to re-enable System Integrity Protection by typing "csrutil enable" or else you won't be able to change permissions (ex giving zoom access to your camera). It should still work if you already gave it permission but if you need to give more permissions.

Did this with continuity years back. Had to update the Wi-Fi/Bluetooth card but worked flawlessly. Glad there’s a patch for this too.

*** Here's the easy installation guide for Beginners : ***

First of all, this video tutorials is not for beginners (Although Youtuber Ruslan could've make this tutorial more informative and friendly for beginners but I really appreciate his effort) .
I have iPad 7th Gen 2019 model & it worked Wirelessly on my iMac late 2013 (21 inch model) MacOS version: 10.15.1
I will try it on my Macbook PRO early 2015 (13 inch) also.

***Cons: Display sizzle and color glitches but I am Ok with that.

Here's the easy installation guide for Beginners :

2. Download Xcode from Mac App Store and install all necessary components.

4. Open the patch folder "sidecarcorepatch" after unzipping it. You'll see a file "patch.swift" .

5. Now open terminal on your Mac and type " sudo swift " (press spacebar right next to swift word)

6. Now Drag the file "patch.swift" directly into the terminal and hit "Enter" button. Terminal will ask for your Mac password.

7. Enter your Mac Password and wait for the patch to be complete. When it's done restart your Mac.

8. *** IMPORTANT ***
Open "system preferences and you'll see "Sidecar" icon underneath which means the patch has been implemented successfully.
Now, If you want to connect your iPad as second display through "Sidecar" app with your iMac follow these final steps:

8.1 Log out of your apple id from both iMac and iPad. Remember if you want to use Sidecar then you must have to use same Apple id on both devices.

8.2 Log in again in both devices and turn on "Apple Two-Factor Authentication" for your Apple id and set it up. Reboot your Mac again.

8.3 If you've followed all the instructions correctly and connected both Mac and iPad on same "WiFi Network" you'll see your iPad as display device on "Side car" app and can easily connect your iPad as second Mac display.

8.4 Enable SIP again from MacOS Recovery then select Utilities > reboot and you're done. Command line for enabling SIP: "csrutil enable"

Cheers.
