Does anybody know what is causing burn-in ghosting at the edges of display even in matter of minutes in Samsung Galaxy Book Ion np950xcj? QLED is supposed to be resistant to burn in. Display edges also suffer from purple tint. Can it get worse over years of use and is it expensive to fix?

Just ordered an ion. i7 512gig, 13"

The available ports were the reason I chose the ion over the Xps 13. Hdmi, type c and thunderbolt 3.

I need something light, portable with a long lasting battery. MacOs is a no-go for me.

Can't wait to try when it arrives in a few days.

Good choice. I briefly owned the Ion for a day... had a shipping issue so had to return it... heres my experience. Ordered from Samsung.com. Student discount was 15% (if you cancel your order they will offer you $100 extra to keep the order so I did that). It arrived very banged up. Samsung ships the laptop in the laptop box with no additional packaging. With overnight shipping it was very bent and looked dropped multiple times. I opened it, the laptop looked fine but there were bright spots in the backlight. Thats the downside of all this.

Other than the issue, the QLED screen was Amazing! Though lower resolution than the Macbook Pro I was replacing, it looked way better with amazing brightness and beautiful colors. The laptop itself was very light and felt more compact than it was. The keyboard and touchpad were perfect in my opinion but the travel depth was a little shallow compared to an HP. Way better than Apple keyboards. The speakers were kind of weak but didn't sound too bad, just small. The laptop was FAST! I wouldn't do any real gaming or video editing on it but Lightroom ran well and I was able to play Homeworld remastered on it just fine at 1080P so long as I turned off Anti-aliasing. The HD was plenty fast in benchmarks.

I wanted to keep it but only sent it back since I couldn't stand the backlight damage which ruined movies in dark scenes. Samsung support was a nightmare. Overall, you will probably like this laptop so long as you upgrade the RAM.
