I think Tyler finds the humor and ignorance behind everything which is why it doesn't bother him.. I truely think if everyone acted like him racism would be dead

Rest In Peace. The most memorable Tyler interview. He was always the old white dude who interviewed anyone. I miss him already.

words are just words you give them power. you allow things to affect you. I'm the same as Tyler

I feel bad for people who let the words of others dominate how they feel. I don't understand how people don't think like Tyler on this one. You must be constantly worked up and pissed off if you let words bother you. I hope one day people realize you have a choice in how you react to what is said to you, and you're not a coward for choosing to not scream and fight the person some stupid words.

"You could call me a nigga right now, I wouldn't give a fuck."
I burst out laughing at that.

I wonder what the camera man's face looked like when tyler told him that he could call him an "n" word. I'd pay so much just to be on the set of one of his interviews he's hilarious

i think tyler was making a point about context but to go as far as to say he can get racially insulted and wouldnt care i highly HIGHLY doubt it... because im high, and i highly doubt it.

No idea who he is, but I gotta respect him for what he's saying. I've had the same thought, people get so offended by what you say, you do give the words power. It's just words. I feel that we are getting to a point where 'fuck' 'shit' ' bitch' ect are no longer offensive as they were 20 years ago.

"That's good for you." Damn good way of looking at it. Thank you for that lesson in social interaction, Tyler.

this guy is the future. people enlightening, thats what it is. anyone can say any words to you, you shall not get angry or have a reaction, your reaction is your problem. Also he says "we give words their power".

I agree with Tyler completely, and I wish more people felt the way he did. However, being a white person, I think it’s just smarter not to use the N word at all, depending on who you are around. You never know how someone might feel about it, because you don’t know if it has been used towards them in a blatantly derogatory way. Things affect people differently, which is why I think it’s fair to just pretend like everyone will get offended.

it really depends how you use the word.

I think it's really important what appears to be Tyler's opinion on language. I agree that words only have the effect and the power and the connotations that we give them.

It's not the word or words, it's the intent behind them.

I love Tyler, he's by far my greatest source of inspirement. Although, I think that he needs to understand that even though those words doesn't mean shit to him they have a history and very many people will take offence.

If you are self aware, and know who you are, nothing anyone can call you will ever offend you, cause you'll already know you're not that, *if you are self aware*, and if you *are* self aware and someone calls you something that is true, you'll already know that about yourself before the even told you and you'd just take it as criticism for something you might need to work on or not. That's why it's important for us to be honest with ourselves, and be who you truly are because if you're pretending to be something else, not only will you not be happy but you won't have the confidence to dismiss name calling or negative stuff people say about you. The earlier you learn this lesson the better off you'll be.

I'm gonna go get a root beer float now, cause they're awesome.
