As a lay Christian minister, I too am fervent in my use of ONLY the KJV version when I quote and reference scripture. The reverential language, the "archaic" olde English words (with their deeper meanings than current "dumbed down, " or "hip" language), themselves translated from the original Greek, Latin, and Hebrew sources. I have no quarrel with those who choose another version, but if they wish to hear me teach, and want me to listen to them, then we both must refer to the same book. It would be like playing "Chess" over a great distance with another player, who has herself set up a game of "Checkers." Looking at the boards, neither will be able to understand what the other is referring to.

Words are important. Very much so. Most versions outside the KJV changes the very first verse in the Bible from God created the heaven & the earth to heaven(s) & earth. That one verse alone contradicts the chronology of creation when changed. It only gets worse from there.

I don't know if these guys are King James Only, but to believe just arbitrarily that God used a version that's over 400 years old now for the modern english speaking peoples is beyond me. I personally like the New King James Version and the Modern English Version. Both are based on the textus receptus.
