Happy New Years yall!! Hows the new year starting off for you guys!? Today we are cash stuffing $500 in to all the things! We are saving for February bills and variable expenses and also cash stuffing some sinking funds for those things that come around every so often (like birthdays and Christmas). If you want to catch up to where we are on the penny challenge, we currently have $9.08 stuffed.

Make sure when you make any extra payments on the car you tell them to put it to principal only. My niece was making extra payments and the just put it as a regular payment. So her principal didn't go down.

I am working on getting a month ahead on all my bills this year. I have been a month ahead on my Rent for a few months.

Being a month ahead on everything is just so nice and so much easier. You'll be so happy you planned for bills and variable spending! I'm at the point where I work the whole month to pay for the next one. So for example, for January I piled up my money in December. On December 31st I paid all my upcoming bills for January (whenever they are due, I don't care, I pay them all on the 1st of the month!) and then stuffed all my variable expenses and sinking funds in my envelopes. All the leftover money went into savings... and DONE! Nothing to think about until the end of January! All I have to do is stick to the allowed money for my variables. Meanwhile the money that piles up in my bank account in January from my incomes is left untouched... until the 31 when I plan for February. This method is SO AWESOME I would never look back!

It’s snowing here is Wyoming so my son wore his gear which includes snow pants because it has to be below zero before they in door recess, crazy😂. Thanks for sharing your good weather we will be living vicariously through your boys.😊

You should do the extra car payment twice. One for buffer payment in case you can't make a payment one month and then one for the additional payment.

I buy my kids used clothes. I find when they have half price days or fill a bag days. I bought a 30 gallon black trash bag for $20. It was enough clothes for myself and 3 teenagers.
