The God of Thunder has grown into one of the best characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He’s gone from the overly serious, Shakespearean-esque figure, to one that’s more comedic around the edges and has actually lost more than anyone in the MCU. Seriously, he lost Jane Foster, he lost Loki, he lost both his parents, half his people, his best friend, his eye and of course, his hammer. Mjolnir was such an important part to the God of Thunder’s identity that it’s strange seeing it destroyed by the evil villain Hela. Just mentioning: Gungnir was Odin's spear in Norse mythology, endowed with two spells - it always hit the target, and the target would always die. The one advantage Mjolnir had over Gungnir was that it would always return to the wielder's hand after being thrown.

The best Thor weapon moment is without a doubt when Stormbreaker was forged and Thor used it to channel his full power, conjure the bifrost, and send it out to save the other Avengers in Wakanda before calling it back to himself and calling out Thanos screaming for him to be brought and leaping into the sky only to crash down and defamate a mojority of Thanos’ army.

Thor, if we’re using Norse myths, is actually proficient in staff fighting as it was one of his weapons and his mythical backup if mjolnir got stolen and before it was created in the first place
