This was totally to cover up the shutdown of the (Plants vs. Zombies 3: What Could Have been) they saw how much the fangame was succeeding already in comparison to their game, so they went "uh oh we actually have to listen now"

Honestly, when I first heard this news, I was surprised but I think my first thought was something like “I’m glad I wasn’t on copium when I thought Popcap was going to add Choose Your Seeds later on”

This is the best thing that has ever happened to PvZ3 so far

The major problem with the old PvZ3 was the artstyle

The major problem with the new PvZ3 was the inability to choose your seeds (& the homescapes features)

Now that the bare minimum has been achieved, PopCap needs to remove the Homescapes features (and make it so each level feels more important to the story)

It seems that popcap finally got my thoughts about "PVZ 3 WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN". As soon as I saw this fan game, I had only one thought in my head: "when this game comes out, everyone will definitely throw mud at the original and forget about it, because the fans finally came to the idea: "if you want to do something well, do it yourself", it seems that the developers realized this and began to make sure that PVZ 3 would not be buried by fans.(I am Russian and I write with a translator, so do not judge strictly if I expressed myself incorrectly😞)

Cool, now add actual level design, at least double the numbers of plants and zombies and we are close to the release version of pvz2 with different graphics and a "story".
This PvZ3 doesn't really have anything worthwile that makes it stand out from the other games, while having significantly less gameplay content. While the original PvZ3 had a lot of questionable features, at least they added unique spins to the gameplay with Taco Time, Tree plants, auto sun generation, Brainiacs and more.
The closest thing to that in the current version are the grapes of wrath which is so passive, it might as well not exist. Seriously, did you ever made a different play because of it?

I'd accept if some levels are already pre chosen plants as some levels do add a strategic fun and challenge to them like; tutorials for each plants and mechanics, teaching us some strategic moves we can do ( for example Wallnut and Squash combo), or puzzles and mini games

I really like that some people in this video comment section actually see that this is a feature that should have been there since the beginning and not just like " OMG! POP CAP LISTENED TO US! THE GAME IS SAVED". Like guys, they did the bare minimum, it is not that significant.

Power-up centric level design
Bland story
Not enough plants to begin with
