These 0° ratchet our very interesting, there are no gears inside like the old ones there are bearings that fight against flat surface of a hex head style mechanism inside. You’re completely silent, some companies have actually put a ratcheting sound just because people were used to hearing it. Polevault makes one of these wrenches for about $25 snap on makes one for another $150 and there’s knock off is about $15 I found this one at tractor supply.

I've used the 3/8" and 1/4" Tractor Supply Zero Degree ratchets and so far have had no issues. The action tends to become smoother with use - less "crunchy".
